  1. did they find out how much time you were spending on DZ.com and said you owed it to them? http://www.aerialfusion.com
  2. I land over there every chance I get... can't do it when I'm doing tandems vids or team stuff... but every other chance I get... you just have to look out for the wayward skybarg doing the staight in thing from 500' (they should not be on that side of the runway, but they always are). http://www.aerialfusion.com
  3. Don't forget about that other group that tends to be a little fast that is at the back of the plane (video guys and instructors)... some folks that camp out just screw up the whole pattern.(not saying you, I've never had an issue with your landing patterns). http://www.aerialfusion.com
  4. as far as I can tell it is the same size as the 5/9 so it should fit in the same d-box... A few folks have mentioned the touch screen issue... I have not had any issues with mine as yet... but I try to use my remote more than the screen to avoid the w&t on it. Josh http://www.aerialfusion.com
  5. i think the MSRP is about $1300... should find it for lower online or in the magazines. http://www.aerialfusion.com
  6. In my opinion the 9 is better than the 5, if for no other reason than the battery... the 5 uses the old "short" series that don't last very long, the 9 uses the "medium" series which have proven to be much more efficient in my experiance... you may want to look at the new line comming out this month... the PC-101 is the same size as the 5/9 but is suposed to have much better resolution. Josh http://www.aerialfusion.com
  7. Thanks... Some of the pics are from Dave, EZ, and LT... I also put some video up last night... nothing fancy just experimenting with getting it on the web http://www.aerialfusion.com
  8. now that's not fair to the bigger folks that can't get down to a 120... how bout a wing loading of 1.9 or higher http://www.aerialfusion.com
  9. you are correct that the $2K/song number is way out of the ball park... the music library scedule looks to be more reasonable... thanks again for your help. Josh http://www.aerialfusion.com
  10. As you know, this year's YER is already in the can... thinking about doing next years for a wider market... also the the TSR next month... and whatever else my brain thinks up between beers... I just can't stand that cheezy loop stuff that comes w/ Premier... http://www.aerialfusion.com
  11. Say, for a year end review about 1 hr long, about 9 songs or an event video, like a record attempt, maybe 30 minutes long both would be primarily for the participants to view at home, and maybe shown some around the DZ. http://www.aerialfusion.com
  12. for some it is a personal goal, for others it is a credential that they carry with them when they go to other than their home DZ(s)... if you have it you have demontrated to a recognizable standard that you can perform certain skills (or at least you did when you took the test)... it may make it easier for someone to get invited on a FF jump when they show up at a new DZ... oh yeah, and it is your passport to Olav's Space Games... If you are lucky engough to be somewhere that will allow ball jumps and you have someone that can ball-master you can take the test for yourself (everyone knows what the test is, right?) so your personal goal can be met... you just don't get the number or the "credentials" kinda like someone who is D-Licesne "qualified, but does not have the actual license casue they have not paid the $$$. http://www.aerialfusion.com
  13. Thanks for your reply... how much does it cost for sync rights? (i assume it is differnt from song to song, but if I were looking to plug a number in to a budget, say) how much is music network? http://www.aerialfusion.com
  14. Does anyone take the time or go through the trouble of obtaining a license to use misic in skydiving videos like tandems, year end reviews, boogie videos, or things like Cloud's Edge or Swoop? Has anyone ever gotten busted for not doing it? http://www.aerialfusion.com
  15. I think I remember reading somewhere that JC likes carves http://www.aerialfusion.com
  16. If I remember correctly, the Javelin's bridle protection flap was added in 1999 model year in response to Mirage's overall design... it still looks like it was added not integrated into the design process. http://www.aerialfusion.com
  17. PD has put out 4 or 5 canopies since I have been in the sport... for two of them, the velocity and the vengaence, they put out the name a month or two before any information (including what the canopy type was). In both cases, it was a "comming soon" deal... then a little while later they would put out some info, then would release the canopy... I would imagine that any new canopy, particularly at the high performance end of the line, would follow the same marketing strategy... build intrest and talk on the street before the release... I don't remember how they released the spectre, lightning or silloette. So in short... I don't think anyone but PD and their testers knows anything, and they are obviously not talking yet. My guess would be one of four... an updated stiletto, a "27-cell" x-braced, a "quad-cell" x-braced, or an airlocked x-braced combo... but that is just my guess. Josh http://www.aerialfusion.com

    Who is jumping?

Things here are going fairly well... big event in June, might be fun... how's things on your end? I've seen a few new Mirages around... look nice. Josh http://www.aerialfusion.com
  19. Its a combination of all these things... pin protection, flaps that stay closed when they are suposed to, quality materials and contruction, comfort... price is important too, but it comes after the other things have made the grade (ie if everything else is equal then price will make the decision, if all other things are not equal, I don't have a problem paying a little more). Who is jumping?

Except for the few weeks that everything was grounded, and baring crap weather, it has been about the same... just been doing different stuff, less tandems more fun jumps and pond swooping... Bill- when you gonna come to spaceland? http://www.aerialfusion.com
  21. Although it was great to have Chris down at SL from time to time, I believe his home DZ was San Marcos, and that was where his closest friends are... Condolences to the crew up at SM. http://www.aerialfusion.com
  22. My sincerest condolences to Chris' family and all his friends... I did not know him very well, but he was a fun guy to have around the DZ... He will be missed by all who knew him... Blue Skies bro, Josh http://www.aerialfusion.com
  23. I know a guy that had over 2500 before he got any license... never got one until he wanted to get his tandem rating. http://www.aerialfusion.com
  24. As a camera guy (with as many as 3 cameras on the helmet), openings are extremely important to me. The ability to hold above the crowd and make it back from a long spot are also very important. I like to make my turn to final fairly high, so a canopy that can dive long is good too. Of course the swoop and bottom end flair are important aspects as well... I currently jump a Velocity and a Crossfire. Both of these canopies work well in all of the above aspects even at wingloadings of 2.2 and 1.9 respectively . Josh http://www.aerialfusion.com
  25. Skydiving? You mean some people actually jump out of a plane with a camera??? http://www.aerialfusion.com
