I was flat on my back for 5 days, and they were giving me demerol injections in the thigh(s)/arm(s) every 4 hours. Didn't do squat except take the edge off the pain and put me to sleep. As I shuffled out of the hospital, they gave me a laxative prescription, which I didn't bother to fill. Then, I get home and realize I hadn't made a poop in about 6 days. That first poop was like giving birth. Must have been 6 feet long, and my god I'll never forget the smell. Morphine based drugs are _not_ worth it. We are all engines of karma

I think everything being said in this thread is true. Real life seems to always be an "all of the above" situation. Kind of like a rainbow. Which side of the rainbow do you want to be on? After much thought, it dawned on me that your thoughts are very real, and everything flows from there. I even managed to put together a framework for this using the 1st law of thermo. I have 2-3 jumps from one. Since then, I've always thought of them as "ultrafrights". Can't say you really jump out of them, more like roll out of them. Can still hear the pilot saying DON'T HIT THE WIRES, DON'T HIT THE WIRES. We are all engines of karma

I had a compression fracture of L1 on 16-Feb-2002. Wore a brace until that May. You're always going to feel it. After 6-8 jumps wearing 16 lbs of lead doing 4-way, I feel like the tin man from the Wizard of Oz (...everything creaks). Never felt that before the compression fracture. The virus infected tissue deep in the lungs that aren't usually prone to infection. Also, it targeted healthy young people more so than old. We are all engines of karma
