I was overwhelmed recently by the poll here asking McCain vs. Obama. Obama seems to think that the world can all get along if we just sit down and talk. We can't, and it's not our call. McCain recognizes that. What do yall think? We are all engines of karma

Most people have never experienced this. It can be very overwhelming. And, it doesn't go away. We are all engines of karma

Well, to be honest, I didn't know any French. But, one of the skydivers I was with knew it fluently. Every single dinner, we would be speaking English. The waiter would end up short changing us. Then, Billy would calmly ask for the rest of the money in fluent French. You should have seen the look on their faces. We are all engines of karma

My experience in France was completely different. Beautiful country, but the people were complete assholes. Both country folks and city. Won't go back until the Germans rule it, again. We are all engines of karma

Tommy Piras is commonly attributed as being the father of modern 4-way. I'm sure there are many people who could argue that, but Tommy is the person who had teams consistently turning 15 pts. His teams were out of Deland. Look up Air Bears, Deland Gang, and I'm sure there are others. Jack Jeffries got his start with Tommy. Tommy had been on one of the first really good 4 way teams out in Arizona. I believe it was called Desert Heat. Some of his other 4 way teammates went on to form an 8 way team that was sponsored by Coors. The first RW focused on building 8ways or 10 ways. I know Tommy was one of the first actively involved in making 4 way happen. I don't know what he did before Desert Heat I believe the French aero assocation names everything these days. Scary stories from the old days?
StreetScooby replied to steve1's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
The recent Parachutist had asked the question - What was your scariest off dz landing (or something to that effect). Wednesday afternoon jump at Spaceland, around 1988. Way out, I pick my landing area, start setting up when I realized I was on the target side of a shooting range (i.e., downrange). Too late, I'm committed. I start screaming "Cease Fire! Cease Fire!". Then, it dawned on me, everyone was wearing hearing protection. I managed not to get shot, but those folks were not very happy with me. Only one of them spoke to me, and he said "Exit that way". I pick both. The govt plays around with their numbers so much, that I simply don't believe half of them. Likewise, Bernanke has been printing so much money for so long now that it's a primary reason prices have gone up all over the world. We are all engines of karma

Agreed. After talking to a guy who knew alot about this type of stuff, it persuaded me from ever wanting to carry. Absolutely. Don't let them get close. We are all engines of karma

I just read this entire thread, and I'm surprised no one mentioned the issue of weapon retention. It's an important consideration when you decide to carry anything. Never forget, they can take it from you and use it on you. Thus, you really need to be willing to use the weapon well before they get close to you. We are all engines of karma

LOL. As I was reading this, I knew exactly what you were talking about. We are all engines of karma

Wouldn't it be easier to simply educate a woman about her period? Hey you missed 2, better do something about that... See a doctor, take care of yourself, make a decision quickly, if that's what you need to do. We are all engines of karma
