When my new container and reserve arrives I will get plenty of practice. I hate being the douche that still uses packers, but at least I'm not out being a dumbass buying a 120 square foot canopy with my A license. I thought for some being a little cautious was a good thing. Besides the money I will save from paying the packers could end up being another jump ticket later in the afternoon. I know most of the worries will go away once I get that first jump on my own packjob.
-
I'm not saying in the least I dont want to pack myself I just want to make damn sure I do it right so it opens and once that first jump on my own pack job is complete then I will feel better about the situation and start saving myself $$$ from paying a packer. I just want to be sure I'm doing it right. Besides thats why I bought a used main with 170 jumps on it so it will be easier to pack instead of a new canopy.

I'm just not confident enough that I remember everything from my packing class a year ago for my A License. I plan on doubling (if not more) the amount of jumps I have already (since I've got my own gear now and not renting). But I want to be very sure of my abilities before I start jumping my own pack jobs.

What it means when someone is sucking up to you...
regulator replied to Nataly's topic in The Bonfire
I would definately suck up to you...not to get a promotion but just to get the opportunity to hear your british accent. -
Would the demo canopy happen to be a PD Pulse by any chance? I have the same feeling myself. I ordered my new container 3 weeks ago and I've got at least 3 more before its built and Square 1 sends me my new container and reserve I ordered. At least yours is already shipped. I have to wait for my container to get built still! Good luck waiting.

This makes me feel alot better about receiving my new Pit Special yesterday with regular vented booties. I only weigh 155 lbs without gear and I wanted to have better leg control in freefall (which is why I ordered the booties). I feel better reading your response as compared to a few of the previous ones regarding booties. I though for a few minutes there that I made a bad decision.

So did you get to demo the Pulse this past weekend? Any updates or comments?

Sitting here waiting for my new container/reserve to arrive in the mail!

Average price to assemble a new rig

Actually I'm spending close to 6 for my new rig with the cypres. But at what point in my post lead you to beleive that I seemed apprehensive to paying the extra 5 bucks? I mean seriously I want it done right that why I asked the question! I will pay the packers for a short time to pack my rig until I'm sure I know I'm doing it right and almost where I can do it with my eyes closed. At that point I'll forego the 5 dollar charge and start doing it myself. New VSE Infinity Container 2,350 New PD Reserve 1,090 New Cypres 2 1,450 (with shipping) Used PD Sabre2 190 1,550 -
And don't forget ITT Technical Institute...thats what I thought you were talking about at first. But I will say that I've seen several tandem videos with 'let the bodies hit the floor' by drowning pool before. I dont think thats the best song to use as a drop for a jumping video, I personally think its more along the lines of 'bad luck' which is why I wont listen to it on the way out to the drop zone.

Average price to assemble a new rig

Well I plan on getting a packer to pack the main for the first 20 times or so until I know that my pack job is good enough then I'll do it myself and start saving the 5 bucks each time for someone else to do it. Initially I dont think I remember enough from my packing class to be 'quite' good enough to pack it myself but thats why I bought a used main so when I do start packing myself, it will be easier and not as slippery. -
I'll turn 40 in around 7 months. I enjoyed my 30's alot actually. And you are right its just a number. Who gives a shit how old you are...just keep living the dream and keep jumping. Thats bound to make you look younger. Happy Birthday Homie!

A used Sabre 2 190 from one of the winners at the Collegiate Nationals that was out at my home drop zone (skydive spaceland) in December. It has 170 jumps and the lines are nice and white and it looks like its in great shape. -

Ok so my container is being built now and when it comes in my new PD Reserve will be sent along with it. I will purchase a new Cypres 2 in a few weeks before the container/reserve shows up, and I already have my main in my posession already. So when I get it all in and take it to my DZ what should I expect to pay the rigger at my DZ to put it all together. And would he pack my main for an extra 5 bucks or would he only assemble and pack the reserve and AAD and connect the main and send me to a packer to pack the main? Thanks Paul -
What to do now that I have my A license

2006. Mandi Schaeffer was still there and so was Ernie but right after I left and moved back to Houston, Mandi left and its good to hear that shes back in Dallas. -
I just ordered a new Pit Special suit from TonySuits and I just got an update from them telling me it should be shipped to me at the end of the month. I cant say if its good or bad yet since I havent jumped it yet but I've heard lots of good reviews about them.

Yeah I should have clarified that at least some of the movie wasnt total BS. In my personal opinion if someone from hollywood made a movie totally about skydiving and made it completely accurate it wouldnt be watched as much as one that was made from the hollywood factories. Of course if it had Collin Farrell and Jennifer Garner in it and she was topless at least for a second or two. I buy that movie and never let anyone borrow it.

So how big was the base for a 10 way speed star? 4 in a base and everyone else had to 'no lift' to catch up with the base? If someone was to do 'no lift' how could they see where the base was in order to dock with the base? Or would they count in their heads until an approximate time and they come out of the no lift to dock? Just curious...I just like it that in cutaway at least that all this wasnt made up BS. Thanks for opening up my mind and informing me about the history of jumping!

So why dont you think that speedstar faded out? Is it because RW and Freeflying are more difficult/fun to watch or was it something else?
