That's excellent advice and I will take it to heart. If it looked like I was say around 150 feet above the fence or close to being above it, I would've landed on the north side of the DZ in one of the huge fields out there. But yes I will remember that and I have no problems landing off the DZ to ensure no (or fewer) injuries. Thanks wendy

Well I jump at spaceland. There are lots of open areas all around the north side of the DZ. But (me admitting I STILL dont know shit) I haven't landed off the DZ yet. But I was constantly checking my airspace and seperation from other jumpers...I was 2nd out the door and I pulled at 4,000. Once I was in the saddle I was low on the left and when I looked behind me the other jumpers were high and to my right. I made sure there was no one in my airspace BEFORE I made my 90 right to face into the wind, but after I had a bit of distance over the barbed wire fence at 450 feet. So when I made my 90 right I was around 375 feet to face into the wind.

One more thing to look for... The power supply usually has a power cord connected to a transformer that transforms 120V AC to DC power. Usually that transformer will have an LED on it indicating the device is powered on. Is that light illuminated, or not on at all. Not every transformer uses an LED to indicate power being applied, but many do.

I did my first jump in Perris, CA. I did AFF right off the bat. I then did 5 jumps in Skydive Dallas and then finished up my license at skydive spaceland. For some tandems were the way to go, but for me... I didn't want some other dudes balls in close proximity to my ass.

What DZ are you closest to? My DZ makes students do two tandems before they begin their AFF training, but it's called STP there instead. It's the same program just spead out a little more than AFF is.

I dunno I don't see any of that at my dz. Of course I still don't know shit but I was taught that before you learn another dimension of flying you should get very proficient on your belly first. I want to learn how to freefly bad, but all in due time.
