  1. I found that after I switched from an open face to my full face Mamba that the noice in freefall was drastically reduced.
  2. Can I assume that IBM was one of the companies that were asked to manufacture weapons during the war or am I mistaken?
  3. I personally own an M1 Carbine my father had purchased right after world war II back in the Early 50's. They had a surplus of these rifles and were selling them via mail order for around 25 dollars. I have no intention of selling mine (ever) so I don't really care what it's worth. But just my personal opinion...perhaps the president should worry about more pressing issues...like fixing the economy. By the way the .30 M1 I have still shoots like a charm.
  4. EMBRAER EMB-312 Tycano
  5. Hint: It's a trainer aircraft from Brazil.
  6. Man this straight up sucks ass. Dennis was one of the good guys. No matter how green you were he always took time to make you feel better with a smile. I will remember my jumps with you like they were yesterday. Rest in peace my friend.
  7. I've never done a tandem before...My first ever jump was AFF in Perris, CA.
  8. My current canopy had 170 jumps on it before I bought it. And the person I bought it from had jumped that same canopy at the collegiate nationals and I don't plan on getting another canopy for at least 200 more jumps.
  9. This reminds me of the dave chapelle episode where they had a 'race draft'. The white people chose Colin Powell The asians chose the wu tang clan
  10. I think the minimum jump recommendation is 500 jumps or 200 in one year. But I could be mistaken.
  11. You put toothpaste on your ass Billy?
  12. Save yourself some money and get an Infinity loaded with options for less money than some of the other basically equipped containers.
  13. 1 3-way; 2-2-ways, and 1 Solo tracking jump. Just 5 more jumps til my B License!
  14. 2 questions...1.) how much of a difference is it between dumping in a track on a sabre 1 and a sabre2 (I have a sabre 2 190) 2.) Lets say you're in a full track...does coming back to the neutral position to wave off slow you down enough to negate any of the forces you would encounter by dumping with out coming back to neutral?
  15. Well the only way to get over this is to go out to the DZ and find jumpers with a smilar skill set to start jumping together. I had been very much in the same boat with you and I had actually been away from jumping for two years after I got my license due to being laid off of two jobs in two years. But I know that I will always love skydiving and I won't let anything hold me back from that. At first I was doing 4 or 5 solo tracking jumps each time I went out there and I even asked manifest if they knew anyone willing to jump with me. It didn't work out that time but this past friday I went out to the DZ to keep current and to get to 45 jumps (woo hoo!) and I didn't even ask...another older gentleman asked if I'd be willing to do a 3-way and I said hell yea. Of course the other jumper with us just got his license and he came nowhere near us to dock but me and the other gentleman (Jay Tribble) managed to pull a few points (after I arched like a mo-fo to match his fallrate) but the point remained that after that he informed me that another gentleman who is an AFF instructor which was not current wanted to work on exits...We exchanged numbers and now I have someone to jump with when I go out to the DZ. Is it a perfectly ideal situation where I get to jump with Jay Stokes or Brian Germain? No, but I'd have to pay to jump with those guys and I'm simply stoked to have someone to jump with to break the monotony of solo tracking jumps (which actually isn't getting old either). So just go out the next time...ask around, ask around some more...and I'm sure that perhaps not instantly but soon you will find someone to jump with. If you want to use the excuse of 'I can't find anyone to jump with' then you won't go anywhere in skydiving. Be nice...ask questions and I'm sure you'll find someone to jump with you Paul

  17. That looks like some good work you did there. What type of applications are you planning on using this for...other than making your house smell like jet fuel.
  18. Thanks for clearing this up. When I got my original Optima I had the batteries for over a year and let it turn itself off and I never had any problems. Well when I turned it on this year to start jumping it showed 1 bar. So I had purchased an extra pair of batteries and swapped them out and in April when I started jumping again I checked the battery right after I finished jumping that day and it showed 1 bar. So I figured I should shut it down manually after the end of the day jumping and the next time I turned it on it said it was at two bars. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this.
  19. That's awesome...So since he doesn't want it can I have it?
  20. So why didn't someone say the same thing the other day when there was 7-8 threads of the same thing...? You know you're a skydiver when...
  21. I know I know...SUPER RICH and DZ OWNER don't go together. But I would for sure like a ride in an Osprey regardless...
