Like I've said, it's easier to do the right thing when it benefits you. The real test is when you do the right thing when doing so may not necessarily be in your best interests. So you should be proud of yourself for doing the right thing even though it was something you really didn't want to do. And I think most people with a conscience do these sorts of things semi-instinctually. It's just ingrained in you. Well, my first thought was "Never make it back from a shitty spot." Then I thought CRW or BASE. You could also have fun landing it in the backs of people's pickup trucks. Do hook turns at 100 feet. You just have to be creative. But no I wouldn't quit. For me the fun is in freeflying. Canopy size isn't going to change that (other than having a big honking container on my back). Not to be sappy or anything, but it's sort of like love. It doesn't go away but it does change form, and I think for the better. I'm every bit as obsessed with the sport as I was in the beginning, it's just that now there's no real adrenaline rush like in the beginning. Jumping out of an airplane is sort of an afterthought... just an elevator ride to your playground. For me it's now about learning and trying new things. It's the journey. Now the rush is doing a kickass jump where everything just clicks. I've had a few lately where as soon as I was under canopy I just sort of yelled "YEAAHHH!! That ROCKED!" Agreed. Every Floyd song has so many layers, and they flow from one to the other seamlessly. They were absolutely brilliant. And people talk about dark lyrics these days. Roger Waters wrote some of the darkest stuff I've ever heard. Now that you mention it, I have heard a fair number of RW folks utter "If it's not on video, it never happened." But dude, you're on video all the freaking time! You don't get to use that excuse very often. Of course, if you guys wanted some yuks, you could get video of us freefliers trying to turn... oh, I dunno... maybe 2 points. No wait.. hell, we'd video ourselves trying to do that. And inside video of a funnelled exit from multiple angles would probably be a keeper. We can arrange that.
