consider yourself lucky if i had been given the same deal last weekend i would have jumped and hopefully passed my level 3. but congrats on passing. hopefully i can get enough by the end of the month for my passing jump.

That poor lil girl! I dont think anyone could prepair themselves for something that severe. Many prayers go out to the family, JVC and everyone there. I can picture one of my nieces(sp?) on the ground and that is a very scary thought. But. My dream is skydiving and I wont let the fear take its toll. as soon as i can afford it i will be going back up! damn poor lil girl!!! edit: I take it that this was a first time tandem for the women. do u have the rest of the story as to what happened to cause this tragic event? to me it always seems that when something makes headlines. everytime it happens for a couple months or more in some cases it gets brought up. Incidents have always happened. Like you i havnt been in the sport for long at all but my guess is that the negative coverage is just a fad that will fade in the weeks or months to come. it will become old news to the tv networks and they will move on to some other storys. About 3 weeks ago there was a segment in the local news paper about things to do in the summer that are different from the norm. Skydiving was at the top of the list from what i remember. it listed all the places to go make a tandem jump(even though some of the places were no loger operational) so there is also good press. just my .02 more experienced people will probably give better feedback for this issue. my turn. a guy is traveling along a desert road when his radiator hose blows out and the car overheats. he is forced to abandon his vehicle and walk for help. Problem is that he hasnt seen any place for assistance for over 20 miles. so he sets out to back track to the gas station he passed 20 miles back. on his way he comes across and indian lying on his back completely butt ass naked with a stiffy(erect penis) pointing straight up in the air. He asks the indian "What the hell are u doing?" the indian replies..."im telling the time." in a disbelieving tone he replies "ok, what time is it?" The indian replies"its 3:27" he looks at the watch on his wrist and sure enough its 3:27. astonished he continues on his way to the gas station down the road. about 3 miles down the road he sees another indian again lying on his back in the dirt woth a stiffy pointed skyword. again he asks what he is doing and again the indian says "im telling the time. so with the thought in his head that surely the first indian just got lucky with the time, he askes..."ok what time is it" to his amazement the indian gives the correct time of 4:18. he tells the indian that he is crazy and goes on his way trying to figure out how in the hell he could tell the time that way. about 7 miles further down the road he comes up on a third indian lying on his back and instead of having a stiffy he finds this indian to be jacking off like a mad man. he asks"what the hell are u doing man?" the indian replies...
