Jump 50 was the one for me, just a factor of different reasons. But i was really pretty terrified and it just felt odd as i thought i was over the fear factor by jump 7 or so First time at a new DZ, unfamiliar rig and a different A/C I distinctly remember being the last one to exit doing a solo and being alone in the plane just thinking "what the fuck am i doing this for" as my legs carried me out and turned to face the prop blast for my first rear exit. Well this is my first thread as such. So not really sure what to say. One night Richard was present when a fight nearly started, someone had thrown a can of beer in anothers face and tensions were really high. Violence was probably about to kick off and in the midst of it all he sat in his chair singing and playing his guitar. Everyone calmed down and things returned to normal. Thats the kind of person i remember him as and i'll miss his remarks and "bloody wanker" comments. 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Anyone actually listen to his stuff in this country? Paints walls with blood, hit a guy in a restaurant, tends to be too fucked up to turn up at gigs and generally killing himself. Yet at 17 or so he was sent to Russia by the British to represent us in Poetry. Just saw an article about why his music matters in some American magazine and was shocked that he was front page. I never realised what a heap of junk the Manta i was jumping was until i got on a Navigator.
