A small taste of what is to come: https://www.axios.com/2022/07/22/trump-2025-radical-plan-second-term?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=editorial

Hard to reconsider based on evidence if the original consideration isn't based on evidence.

Nope, that isn't it. If you implement the Texas abortion law for high capacity magazines, anybody can sue anybody who they think may have a high capacity magazine for $10,000. They could also sue anybody who has aided in acquiring or using that high capacity magazine for the same amount. Agreed. Mandatory storage and transportation requirements. Biometric locks, etc etc.
-
Easy. Same route as the abortion law in Texas. Allow anybody to sue anybody who might be in possession of, or has aided anybody in maintaining, acquiring, loading or providing ammunition for high capacity magazines. Then ensure that those being sued are unable to ever recover legal costs.

I read it more as individual agents have retained private counsel, which I think makes sense. I would want private counsel if faced by congressional subpoenas and potential criminal investigations.

Nah. Religion is the tool you use to wield the power. The deity, God(s), the construct that people are willing to suffer for because it will deliver them salvation, provides the power. Look at it from a different angle. Money (God) is power. The belief in the "American Dream" (religion) is what allows one to wield the power that makes people suffer voluntarily.
-
Your son had it wrong, God isn't Ignorance, God is Power.
-
Really the same for all religions. Majority of followers are not devout and pick and choose which parts of the religion they wish to follow.

When a doctor is getting dragged through the mud and harassed by Republican government officials and media for helping a 10 year old rape victim who could not get help in her own state, I honestly don't understand how you cannot be fearful.

But only personal liberty for some things and really only those allowed within a Christian environment. Certainly not the same personal liberty for women, LGBTQ, or POC. When all that personal liberty further leads to kids having to wear bulletproof backpacks, locked into schools, higher child mortality, lower overall life expectancy, etc. you pretty quickly come to the realization that this personal liberty leaves you worse off. And how much personal liberty do we give up for that? Well we give up having to go bankrupt over medical bills, some restrictions on hate speech and we don't get to brings guns everywhere. Not sure how one can be reasonable and also not see the value in that trade off.

$10,000 tax per cartridge. 2nd Amendment says nothing about a right to fire your arms.

Some people seem to have no sense about "unintended consequences". Yes the idea of not having to perform any abortions is wonderful, in a world where everything is just peachy. What we are seeing now is people having to come to terms with what that all means in the real world. So now we see people saying stuff like, well that isn't really an abortion, it is a D7C. And, did you know that D7Cs can also be used for something other than an abortion. So a doctor would have performed one of those and not an evil abortion. See it is all good....

Not just the US, it is everywhere really. I am convinced that the free flow of information in its current state is absolutely detrimental to society as a whole. Most of us are simply not smart enough to deal with it. No, I don't know what the solution is. But I do think the result will be events that will lead to being forced to reduce your sphere of information. When only what happens immediately around you becomes important.

The fact he objectifies his daughter is a pretty clear sign he doesn't care for her or her wellbeing.
-
The last Republican President clearly didn't care about anything but himself and could care less about his kids. Why would it be unrealistic to think that if the revered leader of the party is like that, a fair chunk of his followers are like that?
-
The law also states the the doctor cannot be awarded restitution for legal costs.
-
Nothing like forcing people to have kids and then not providing any support....fucking brilliant, what could possibly go wrong
-
Now that we are arming teachers, we should just allow them to shoot the troublesome, disrespectful kids. Guns really do solve all problems!
-
Blessed be the fruit. The US is moving to a theocracy.
-
And once they do that under oath, then I will give that some weight.
-
Sure, just like in communist Canada we have banned the use of asbestos, while happily shipping it to other parts of the world. We also do something similar with coal.

A strong education system benefits society as a whole.

How the guy who worked directly for Donald Trump was able to get his job at the SS back is astounding to me.
-
Yeah, pay them better, not reduce qualifications.

Maybe some correlation with the higher suicide rates in rural areas.....
