  1. Nope, but we certainly mandate training, don't we.
  2. You call it whatever you want, that is fine. I just laugh at the fact that violence is fine on tv, but god forbid some one would see a nipple. Most north americans don't appear to have a clue as to the strict and stringent censorship that is in place on this continent. But then we call it, protecting society.
  3. I know you are not going to like this, but, to me they are somewhat different issues. It would be an interesting experiment to just let everyone have any kind of gun they wanted and let them carry it wherever they want. Am happy I am not in the country most likely to do that. Funny enough, some countries around the world do operate that way, they are the same countries the US seems to have the most problems with.
  4. when a man drives drunk he is an ass, no matter what he does after that.
  5. Thank God this man had a gun, God only knows what could have happened if he didn't have a gun.
  6. sure, when bush or any conservative do it, classy. When a liberal does it, he is an ass. Can't believe you don't understand that.
  7. To me culture is roote a little deeper than the last 100 years. For the person who asked about the culture of censorship, just take a look at the restrictions placed on what can and cannot be said and shown on tv. Half a million dollars for a nipple is censorship as far as I am concerned.
  8. I am still waiting for the money you promised me. But it would seem that you make statements, but then don't deliver on those statements. No wonder you are such a big fan of Bush
  9. But that is only because he is an intelligent, logical, level-headed conservative
  10. Well, for some one who moved from a far more open society to a more closed one, when it comes to drinking, drug use and sex, it really isn't that odd of a thought. Growing up in Holland, where social drinking and marijuana and seuxla images are not as strictly controlled as in North America it was odd for me to find the follwoing: 1. I know more people who smoke dope in Canada and the US than I do in Holland. Even though i spent 24 years in Holland, including high school and university. 2. The concept of drinking for no other reason than to get drunk was completely foreign to me, until I came to Canada and the US on a frequent basis. 3. Compare rates of teen pregnancy between the two countries. With that in mind, the concept of educating and not restricting is not that bizarre. I have certainly found, that the more you tell people they are not allowed to do something, the bigger the attraction to actually go and do that.
  11. Might be true, but anybody who has spent any time in Europe laughs at the notion of any country in North America having culture. Other than maybe Britney Spears I have no clue what would constitute American Culture. Unless it is a culture of violence, guns and censorship.
  12. I didn't realize I had used the word hope in my post, you must be really good at reading between the lines. Or, do you think you know what I am thinking. Just based on how many times I am typing this today, I am starting to believe that Republicans have a bit of an assumption issue. See, that to me is not really the logical conclusions. Mainly, because I cannot accept the notion that only gun ownership has an influence on gun crimes. There are other variables at play. Doesn't mean that your conclusion is wrong, also doesn't mean it is right. For me, it will be interesting to see if the changed pub hours will have an influence on violent crimes related to drunkeness. But then, I don't have your fascination with guns and wether or not people can carry them.
  13. If you had half a clue about the situation, you would know that they are actually doing the exact opposite.
  14. I agree, we are currently having some problems with the CRTC, the Canadian version of the FCC. I know most Americans have a hard time believing this, but you don't really have a very positive image around the world right now. Hence, this really does not come as a big surprise. Now, before peacefull and storm and others start yelling and screaming at me again, please note that I did not indicate wether or not I agreed with it. Just a statement of fact, how I see it. Google my ass
  15. Next year will be a bit better indication of this little gun experiment. Harold Shipman will no longer e running around killing people. Second the laws concerning pub hours will have changed. I am ot sure what an incredible problem binge drinking has been been in the past little while. It will be interesting to see if allowing longer hours will change the binge drinking habits.
  16. I am not sure what you are complaining about, I keep reading on here that your economy is booming and doing great.
  17. Couldn't agree with you more and if you weren't jumping to conclusions with wrong assumptions you would realize that is excactly what I wrote. Some one said something about American Democracy and I commented there was no such thing. I am happy to see that you agree with me. I know all that, once again, leave your assumptions out of this and just read what I wrote. Fact remains, more people voted for Gore than for any other candidate, yet he did not win. that precludes democracy. I didn't make any statements about the system being right or wrong, but many Americans on this board seem to feel easily attacked. "that which we call a rose, would smell as sweet by any other name" You are right, should have used a different term, doesn't change the fact though
  18. I have to stop laughing hysterically everytime I see you write stuff like hits, because my staff is starting to wonder.......but it is so funny after all your posts from your high horse regarding profanity and juvenile comments the other day. You make fun of Kerry for his flip flops, you seem to do one almost hourly....
  19. I am not quite sure why you are yelling at me....but you are pretty much proving my point. I am not saying the system is wrong, just that you can't really call it a democracy. If you are having difficulty with that, I suggest going back to JK.
  20. There is no such thing. Democracy runs on the concept of a majority rule. When the majority of the people can vote for one candidate, yet another candidate wins the election, with less votes......it is impossible to call that a democracy.
  21. Now if you had put your glasses on, you would have noticed that the paragraph starts with: "Law enforcement sources said archive staff members told FBI agents " So, the information does come from unnamed officials. Honestly, half the time these conservative nutjobs don't even know why they are attacking a topic. They just know they are suppoded to. Sad.
  22. So, is this part of the petty, juvenile name calling you go on and on about in a different thread?
  23. ROFLMAO that is the funniest thing I have read on here in a long time, specially since it is coming from you.......
  24. So, that is like saying Skerry and DemoKKKrats and stuff like that.....right..... Or, let me guess, the other way around it is not petty name calling and juvenile? Or maybe, just use fuck as every other word, maybe that will help make statements less petty and juvenile?
  25. Bwaahhahhaaaa from the same poster on two different threads. So I take it you personally interviewed Ronstadt and read all about her political views in specific profiles.... You are killing me.....
