  1. sigh...........without getting charged obviously
  2. Serious question: If some one is standing on your front lawn and you think he might do damage to your grass, you can shoot him?
  3. Then they should give it directly to Indonesia, the country with the world's largest Muslim population.
  4. I am pretty sure that has been increased to at least $350 million and that is Government only. There have been a fair amount of donations from the private sector as well in both money and goods. I believe Bill Gates and his wife donated $3 million alone through their foundation. I don't think it is fair to claim the US is being stingy at this point.
  5. I know a sucker bet when I see one, or get offered one. Hence, I wouldn't go around offering people bets I know I will lose. I will gladly take bets I can't lose if people are stupid enough to offer them. Ron, I would have never offered that bet, or any bet based on an opinion. You did and when you realized what you had done, you withdrew the offer. Anyways, no need to keep on beating this dead horse.
  6. You offered the bet yourself, already knowing that. Not taking some one up on a bet is significantly different from offering a bet and then withdrawing. like I said before, lots of talk, but not a whole lot of action.
  7. He won't follow up his words, all talk no action. He offered to bet me and ran away when I took him up on it.
  8. As you are so fond of saying....provide proof, until then you are just lieing. I didn't realize legal matters were solved with a dictionary
  9. It is the US Constitution, I suggest you read it beyond the 2nd amendmend.
  10. Exactly, so there is nothing wrong with saying that indeed there has been no declaration of war and hence if you claim to be at war it has to be an illegal war. No Monday Morning Quarterbacking going on. No need for a dictionary, just a basic understanding of your own constitution.
  11. What I find funny is that in another thread you are telling those same people to just get off their lazy ass and get a job.
  12. true, what he however fails to understand is that is exactly how people are suppose to learn from history. A concept that seems to be absolutely foreign to most nations in the world.
  13. Get a copy of your constitution. Funny how you are the first guy to wave the constitution around when it comes to your right to keep your guns. I guess a simple thing like a war with tens of thousands of innocent people killed is pretty insignificant compared to your right to pull a trigger yourself. Ron, seems like rules only need to be followed when they are benificial to you or your line of thinking. Either that, or you just don't understand your constitution beyond that it allows you to carry a gun.
  14. A tragedy. And until there has been a declaration of war, it is not a war.
  15. All I am saying that on both sides of the aisle there may have been strong reluctance to agree to war. However, they could not openly say that, since it would take away from the threat.
  16. A killing does not make a war, a declaration of war makes a war. Ron, I get the feeling you think you are more qualified to be a human being just because you have been a soldier. Thankfully most people still realize that you do not have to have the ability to kill people to discuss things like a declaration of war. In earlier posts you seem to lead people to believe that you live by the rules. That if rules are established you should follow them. Guess that doesn't apply to something as simple as a war declaration. Oh, you don't seem to understand that force does not equal war.
  17. I would think the opposite is true. I would think his experience might motivate him to run. To do things better himself.
  18. So, which US resolution is that again? Or are you now talking about a UN resolution? Because I am pretty sure that US law does not allow the UN to declare war on their behalf. Which brings me back to my original point, you are either not at war, or are fighting an illegal war. Since you claim you are at war, it has to be an illegal war.
  19. The media is, as usual, really on in it to report on sensational stories, even if they have to make them up. If anybody caught the CBS news last night, you might have seen a story on the coral reefs. That footage was filmed from my uncles boat. He only gave permission after he was assured it would be a fair and balanced piece. To make a long story short, they ended up reporting that all coral reefs have sustained major damage. This is just plainly not true. As a matter of fact the footage they used ot show the state of the coral reefs prior to the tsunami was really shot after the tsunami....... Naturally now the local producer is blaming the New York producer etc etc. In the end they got another sensational story, who cares whether or not it is true. Unfortunately, the average viewer will just take it for gospel.
  20. yeah yeah, on the same site you'll find a world-wide caution, telling people they could get caught in anti-US violence at any time. Really, they don't want you travelling anywhere in the world. This is the same CDC that told people not to travel to Canada due to SARS. CYA is all it is.
  21. Or it shows that Congress specifically did not want to go to war, but did not publicly want to state that since it would show dissent to SH.
