Charges against Omar Kadr in Guantanamo dropped
SkyDekker replied to Richards's topic in Speakers Corner
I agree, he should be extradicted and out on trial here in Canada. -
Yes, but not spelled that way, one of my favourite pet peeves for some reason. Libel (L = Letter) Slander (S = spoken) (Though under Canadian Law something said on TV or the radio is considered Libel and not Slander, the difference between the two is if there is permanent record or not)

It is impossible for a newspaper to slander....

I allow for different safe words having different meanings....not all safe words have to mean stop completely

The breed has been mentioned at least twice already, but my vote goes to the Australian Shephard (auusie). It is a very intelligent breed, but keep in mind they are a working dog. They need excersice and they need mental and physical stimulation. It is a dog you need to stay on top of, but fiercly loyal to the family. One word of caution with kids. Aussies are herdng dogs and they have been known to try and herd the kids when they take off running. For me it was always funny to see, but it did result in the occasional knock down of my son. Mine never nipped though while doing this, some are known to do that. (I always saw that as a good and not so painful reminder that dogs are animals and should never be trusted)

Personally I think that if the President of the World Bank is starting his job by loudly proclaming they will only give money to those government who have "their house in order" and have reduced fraud and high ethics, the simple fact he was in any shape directly involved with getting his girlfreidn a raise should be cause for dismissal.

*** Sure it does....Bill is absolutely right. If this was somebody close, the reaction would be completely different. Just compare the reactions to the recent suicide with the reactions in earlier suicide threads. World of difference.

No they dont. Final selection is made by a panel of judges. This just decides who gets to that stage.

There is due process in place that is supposed t prevent people from being arrested and detained without evidence. The US specifically circumvented those laws and rules and in 5 years never had te show any form of evidence. Why do you think they did that? if they had evidence, why not process him like every other american citizen is supposed to be processed? Assuming that there must be solid evidence because he was arrested is not only naive, but scary. The rules, laws and regulations for due process are in place because all throughout history (and even right in the US itself) people have been jailed for political gain or general fear. So I ask you, why would the US government hold a US citizen and completely disregard due process. History has shown only one possible answer to that question. Why do you think this time it is all different?

The BEST Vacation of Your Life...Where Did You Go?
SkyDekker replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire

many for the same reason, since it was a thrad about fake tits and the comments where that women get them for attention, I said women in the post above.
-
Funny, I always got the feeling many women skydive for the same reason.
-
I wonder if it are some of the same world class skydivers who are pushing for more mainstream media to pick up the sport and who would also like to see larger price money at events. A worldclass stoner burning in would not do the sport any good.
-
silicone gel implants. I have had men comment that they don't like fake tits to me and my girlfriend, after they had been staring at hers for more than 10 minutes, not realizing hers were....lmao.
-
Just goes to show that the skydiving industry is completely incapable of policing itself. So, some world class skydivers jump stoned, so we should be carefull saying anything about it? That is just pure stupidity.

2 Vegan + baby = starved baby + 2 life in prison
SkyDekker replied to dorbie's topic in Speakers Corner
No, it shows that anything can be stupid if applied wrong. An omnivorous diet can end up making you too fat if you eat too much of it. It can make you sick if you eat too much sugar and fat. And I've never known a vegan who would balk at breast milk, either. But some babies don't nurse as easily as others, and some parents apparently don't put life above ideology/laziness. Wendy W. Ahhh, the voice of reason.... -
Just do some research into your current President's grandfather Prescott and his business dealings leading up to and during WWII.
-
true, but some of his family wealth is thanks to Hitler anyways....

Don't they want to bring your military home? Would certainly stop most of them from getting killed. Isn't it your republican president who refuses to? Sounds like your president is getting them killed and your anger is misplaced.

You are either with us or against us. That partical brand of propaganda and raising of support is not limited to one race, religion or group.

Inwas reading an article in one of our national newspapers two weekends ago, which stated that 30 million chinese men at a marital age will be unable to find a mate by 2015 in China. Should make for some interesting scenarios.

NRA opposes bill to stop gun sales to terror suspects
SkyDekker replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
I think the NRA has a valid point in this, though their comment about politicizing is rather funny. -
It is a noble goal, but it isn't the goal the US has in mind IMHO. The US doesn't just want a deomcracy, it wants a democracy made up of parties the US can agree to. If a deomcratic vote in Iraq would lead to a government sympathetic to Iran, the US would never stand for that. If a democraticly elected government in Iraq would decide to kick the US out and start trading its oil in Euro, the US would not stand for that. To me, that is why this "mission" will never work. The US doesn't want to create a democracy, it wants to create puppet governments.

The linked story shows how easy it is to get wrongfully convicted. In this case a pediatric pathologist appears to have made quite a few mistakes, resulting in innocent parents being sent to jail for killing their children. http://www.canada.com/globaltv/national/story.html?id=6f76f2ef-bde0-4abb-8618-64fbbdf62c60&k=82354
