  1. Eventually one of us will have to grab the only remaining seat in this game of musical choices...last time I checked those 2 choices involved abortion. Is it hard to believe that somebody would want women to have the opportunity to have an abortion if they so choise, yet personally would never have an abortion?
  2. So, if an officer assigned to a traffic unit does not write a single ticket for 6 months. That would not raise any eyebrows? They would not question his (lack off) performance?
  3. Yup, but how does getting your oil from a foreign country drive the price of gas up? When you were enjoying cheap oil, you wre getting most of your oil from that same foreign market.
  4. Why would Obama want us to be more dependant on foreign oil? Higher gas prices Which in turn Helps government motors sell the Volt Really? Can you explain how that would work out?
  5. because the only rules that should be in place for pure capitalism is a free market. Any regulation after that, is the government meddling in that free market.
  6. And my point is that as a society you have an obligation to protect the weak, to help them. I believe that noblesse oblige. Execution is a great way to make sure you no longer have to think about what went wrong though. Great way to forget anything that might be learned. A great way to take the focus off a bigger picture. It is a wonderful spectacle to ensure people do not ask too many questions. It is also a fine part of panem at circenses.
  7. So you want to regulate the market. Fine, I agree, but not very capitalistic of you.
  8. Not quite sure how you are getting to this conclusion. Right now the market is "judging" the company to be worth roughly $87 billion. The shares aren't soaring, but they aren't tanking either.
  9. Capitalism at its finest. Don't udnerstand why you have an issue with it? Are lawyers and judges not allowed to make as much money as possible?
  10. Psychological disease is not something you chose. Very few parents raise their children all by themselves. Daycare, schooling, interaction with other people, socializing...all parts of being raised. How many people do you know who have been raised without any influence outside of that of their parents? Do you think that would be healthy?
  11. Nope, but as a society you have failed. The village has failed. Here are some questions to consider: How many people convicted of heinous crimes have serious psychological issues? Does "The Village" and the family not have a responsibility to help those dealing with severe psychological diseases?
  12. there's one of your 7 votes! He's, right, btw. Many enjoy putting in the contrarian vote in your 'do you hate children' type yes/no polls. Actually no, I didn't vote. I never do in JR polls. Just telling him why those votes are probably there.
  13. The same way the US deals with all issues. Nuke it
  14. Hm. To how many degrees of separation? All degrees alive at the time of the crime.
  15. I believe in holding people responsible for their actions and the outcome of those actions. I also believe it takes a village to raise a family. Hence when people commit heinous crimes, family, friends and the community should get punished as well.
  16. Because he lives in a predominantly christian country and is discussing the issue with people from predominantly christian countries.
  17. I notice how none of the people who voted "fire him" have the courage to come forth and explain their position... It's kind of funny how those who are afraid of 2nd Amendment rights, are also too afraid to exercise their 1st Amendment rights. Or they are just fucking with you? Not everybody takes your "interestingly" worded polls as serious as you do.
  18. You were replying to Lawrocket. His contention in his post is that GZ is the attacker. Indeed.
  19. Right after you provide a link to these studies you keep referencing. Right after you demonstrate how a $500 million investment in libraries would be better.
  20. Doesn't stand for ground mean you don't have to withdraw?
  21. Really, what is the financial return? Or does it actually take away from local businesses since the rental of books take away from the purchasing of books? Library may actually have a negative financial impact on the community. Correct, it does a better job at reading and comprehension. It is a benefit. But on a purely financial basis it would not provide a positive ROI. Then again, I have argued a couple of times, that would not be the sole driver in these types of decisions. Which brings us back to reading and comprehension.
  22. Quite a few very rich authors and publishing houses. The stadium is also not going to greatly enrich a small number of already wealthy people. They would just go somewhere else. Playing in Minnesota isn't going to make them richer than playing in LA. Which off course is no different than any other company looking for subsidies etc. In the end, these rich people would have gone to LA to be very rich over there. Minnesota decided that there is a benefit to an NFL team and a world class stadium in their community. Will the investment be profitable on a purely financial level? Probably not, but that simply is not the only driving force in these decisions.
  23. it is stated a couple of times. It is fine for you to disagree with me, but if you are truly unable to comprehend what I am saying, I suggest a return to high school. Because it is among the benefits, not the sole benefits. Again, if you cannot understand that, I suggest you return to high school.
  24. Looking is not innocent? Following is an insinuation? Whatever dude. Look at the map. If those locations are accurate, you tell me how he stopped his "walk", did a 180 and went straight back to his car.
  25. Right, I included all that because I don't know what he was doing. That's why I included multiple options and even ended it with something as vague as "or something".
