Did you notice how john didn't answer the question? Sure he made some kind of vague remark, but why do you think he won't answer the question? Because you asked him how many uninsured people are insured.

I don't get it. Guns are just an inanimate object. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Are you afraid the gun is just going to jump of the poster and kill Ted Cruz? -
"This is how easy it is to buy guns in America"

But the easy availability of guns has no impact on violence right? -

Except the lady who got killed waiting for a permit. She doesn't have to take responsibility for her actions, that is all the state government's fault! -

I see the NRA has already figured out who to blame.....the reverend. Classy stuff. -
He will claim the video doesn't prove he was driving. If the lady in the passenger seat when ryoder pulled up was his wife, she cannot be made to testify against him (is my understanding). If the video doesn't give clear evidence he is behind the wheel it will get thrown out. Just my layman's prediction.

Jersey woman stabbed to death waiting for Gun Permit

Exactly, when it is a subject you are a supporter of, it is everybody elses fault. In all other cases you are a strong supporter of taking responsibility for your own actions. -

So when are people supposed to take responsibility for their own actions? I mean, when people say how statistics show that black people have a much harder time succeeding. Often teh argument is that maybe they should take responsibility for their own actions and work harder. When I would say that a male visible minority born today has a disproportionately higher chance of ending up in prison. The counter would be that maybe if they would get rid if their victim mentality, things would be better. But in this case it is hard to deal with a crappy hand and the fact she couldn't get a gun fast enough is to be blamed. Not any of the personal choices she made along the lines, cause...well you never know. -

Why didn't she take responsibility for her own situation? I would start with not fucking psychopaths with murderous tendencies. I thought you were all about personal responsibility? She made the wrong decision in her personal life. -

I thought that welfare made people lazy and caused this? Yet these other countries where people have less of a murderous tendency have much larger social safety nets/welfare. Shouldn't these more socialist countries have higher violence than the US with its limited welfare? Or are Americans just more likely to be psychopaths? Probably the last part. Lots of inbreeding, chemicals in the water, GOP, global warming, etc, etc I think Americans are pretty similar to most others, specially say Canadians. So I will have to disagree with you. -

Counselor: The corpses are not still leaking blood, that's ridiculous. If you dont have the stomach for this kind of situation, go into exile? I was speaking from the past events all the way back to Rodney King. We all know what's happened lately. Their 1st reaction is to loot, burn steal, and the liquor stores and pharmacies are always the 1st to get hit God forbid they burn up the booze and dope. You don't like that, complain to the historic facts, I don't want to hear it. Maybe if slave owners like you had treated them better..... -

What a great description of the defence defense industry, and the car industry and the financial industry. Can't spell defense without that (s) there buddy. Defence is spelled with a "c" in Canada. Actually it is spelled that way in pretty much all English speaking countries. -

I could care less about his grammar, it was a sublte response to something else. On the second issue. Employer is singular in that sentence, hence it would have to be employer's. As an example: Employer's organization and Employers' organization are two very different things. -
Lol, I tried to tell you this in the other thread. If I was a grammar nazi, I could have pointed out many mistakes. Yet, I only pointed it out in the sentence in which he decided to slip a little veiled PA. Probably way too subtle for an Anvil, hence this hammer.

She could be alive if she had taken a different route that day. She could be alive if she had decided to take longer stopping for a coffee. She could be alive if she had decided to go on vacation that week. She could be alive if she had decided to move somewhere else. She could be alive if she had decided to carry pepper spray. There are many "could have beens". She could have stood a great chance of not getting killed with a myriad of different decisions. Why only focus on the gun, it is just a tool, not some magical instrument. -
Its It's a start I guess. I have discovered even more errors! Kind of retarded isn't it.

lol, you missed the point. There is a reason I only picked a problem in that specific sentence. And yeah, it should be employer's not employers' or employers. -

From the article it is clear she was actually born in Kenya. Funny enough her birth certificate says Hawaii. -

The man out weighed her by 100lbs, was a little bit crazy, and had a knife. What would you consider a "practical alternative?" I don't get it. The argument against any type of gun control is generally that somebody intent on killing is going to find a way to do it, gun or no gun. In this case, this guy was obviously intent on killing her. Now the argument is that she would be alive if she had a gun? But, if he is intent on killing her, wouldn't he just walk up behind her, grab her and stab her? She would never even have a chance to use a gun. If people who are intent on killing are going to find a way to do it regardless, then her having a gun would make no difference whatsoever. -

Actually, no. He brought it up to underscore how tough things are for him. Meh, he is getting paid for it and chose the job himself. I am sick and tired of this glorification of police and soldiers. You knew what the job was when you signed up. Not complaining it all. Just highlighting that his employer is breaking regulations and if he had a problem with it, he has avenues open to him. *you're -

Then don't complain about a voluntary action. (Never mind that Health and Safety regulations cannot be circumvented voluntarily. The employer has an obligation here, even if the employee waives it.) -

Waiting who specifically said it? Nobody did, but his comment would have made no sense if he was free to, but decided not to. Now you will say, aha, nobody said anything specifically, so we can start moving the goalposts all around. Hence, why I didn't answer
