47 People shot in chicago over the weekend. WHAT A SUPRISE!!!
SkyDekker replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
Further, the idea of a "free market" is supposed to prevent this. If a place is extremely violent, free market principles would dictate that people leave and go somewhere else, eventually leading to a decrease in violence. -
Must be why the Scandinavian and other highly socialized countries are in such bad shape. Sweden - AAA Norway - AAA Denmark - AAA Finland - AA+ Germany AAA UK - AAA Netherlands - AA+ Oh, wait. Maybe you're just plain wrong. You must be right. Obviously, government debt is the result of capitalist laissez faire policies. A government that doesn't spend is the one that goes bankrupt first. It's simple. Greece ran out of money. It has now run out of other places' money to throw away. Because it is laissez faire all the way, right? I'll bet Milton Friedman sees Greece as the pinnacle of his dogma, too. You are both right....sort of. The issue isn't capitalism or socialism. The issue is spending money you do not have. Those countries on the list also have high taxes to pay for the social programs. And, somehow they aren't all populated by lazy people living off welfare. The problem with Greece is mounting debt and a population which has always refused to pay their taxes. In the US they have gone so far as convincing people that lowering taxes will dramatically increase revenue and therefor mounting debt isn't a problem, as long as we also lower taxes.

Her job is information gathering, distributing and decision making and she cant work a fax machine........ I would think a manager such as one at a major energy company... should be aware of the management technique called delegation. You make a great point she is too stupid to operate a fax machine, OR delegate tasks like a fax to others.... sounds like a real winner huh Amazing how the ability to operate a fax machine is what people see as important for the presidency of the US. If I were a big supporter of the Republican party, I would be a lot more worried about what is going to come our of Trump's mouth next than Hillary's ability to fax something.

Yep. Good. What do you mean by "good"? Do you think unregulated dumping of mercury and arsenic into the air is "good"? Don Regulation and political agendas are two different things Want another example? Look at the waters of the US regulations set for Aug 1 Another abuse of power It is agenda Not science that drives them Then how should it be regulated? Or should it not be regulated at all?

What is the Department Policy on sudden stops, quick accelerations and drastic turns? Considering the department had specific names for giving people they had arrested "rough rides", do you think the seat belt policy and how it was communicated is the biggest issue?

Tsipras has really only been buying time so that friends, family and powerful are able to move their Euros out of Greek banks. That way they cannot be forcibly converted to the new Drachma. The wealth of these people will grow significantly during the hyperinflation which is sure to follow.

Indeed! Now they can focus on more important issues... like fiscal responsibilities They have already talked a lot about that. Apparently you need a lot more money for your military.

Amazing to me there were 4 dissenters on this issue.

The biggest problem with Ferguson in my opinion is with how the messaging was handled after the incident.

Or ego is a good possibility too. Like the go involved with, how dare you run away from me and try and show me up. I am going to arrest you on questionable charges regarding this knife that may or may not be legal. Then, I am going to give you the ride of your life. That should teach you not to challenge me again.

It was different, because it wasn't different, which of course is highly offensive. Don't you know we have a badge? You can't treat us like the regular scum that roams the streets.

It does have some truthiness to it.....feel it in my belly!

So really those coal fired plants are bad for the environment is what thata rticle is saying. Which is at odds, with what you have been saying for quite some time, that coal fired plants are not bad for the environment. Once again you post something that contradicts what you have claimed in the past.

More platitudes, coming from you, that's surprising........... Take one look at the current crime rate in Baltimore, then argue facts. The city tax payers have paid enough settlements in Baltimore. Of course crime is up, the cops are giving everybody a big "fuck you". The thin (thick?) blue line in action. No surprise.

Not having him buckled in COULD be criminal negligence. Hitting the brakes, turning sharply ON PURPOSE would be murder (maybe), that's what he's charged with. The prosecutor made a huge mistake charging "up" on this, once the actual facts come out, they will matter. Unlike the media reports. But then again, in all these situations, the facts didn't matter to the media. Facts didn't matter to the cops either. Those facts not mattering are what lead to Freddie's death. Baltimore's "finest" have a long history of not letting facts stand in the way of a good ass kicking, false arrest, death or severe injury.

Agreed 100%.

"This is how easy it is to buy guns in America"
SkyDekker replied to Hooknswoop's topic in Speakers Corner
Depends on how long you are willing to wait for this positive difference. Unfortunately your founding fathers set the stage for a society which has gotten more violent as time goes on. Any attempt at making a difference would take at least a generation to manifest. The other question is, where does doing nothing take you? -
Liberal Media, The Media of Peace and Tolerance

I don't get it. Guns are just an inanimate object. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Are you afraid the gun is just going to jump of the poster and kill Ted Cruz? Why would the AP publish such a picture? What is their end goal? I honestly don't think the AP has an end goal when it comes to Ted Cruze. And what happened to personal responsibility? Don't want to have a picture like that taken, don't stand there. -

Sorry, but both a nuanced and a literal review of this sentence makes no sense. -

You don't know if you are afraid the gun is just going to jump of the poster and kill Ted Cruz? -
So why play along? The media can only affect your thinking if you let them. Me personally? I don't. But as we all know that are a lot of weak minded fools in America that are easily influenced by the 10 second sound bite. Democrats refer to them as "Useful Idiots." And that is the media's problem that America has a lot of weak minded fools?
