  1. I am just trying to figure out when it isn't murder in your opinion. Plan B, is that murder? IUD, is that murder? Obesity is that murder? When does it go from simply preventing to murder in your opinion?
  2. Which would make your society almost more violent than Somalia. Hard to believe that by just crossing the border into Canada these things barely happen.
  3. Canada ranks something like 12th in the world in terms of per capita firearms ownership. There are actually a lot of legally acquired firearms here. Don't believe the BS telling you otherwise. Who is saying there aren't? There are two key differences: Hand guns are significantly harder to acquire than in the US. There are severe restrictions on how firearms are to be stowed and transported. There is no right to carry.
  4. Maybe, but Toronto is well south of North Dakota......
  5. You have to wonder how many people have been murdered by police and swept under the carpet, before video become so widely available.
  6. Moving goal posts would require them to be originally set. This was the first "challenge" to rush, so they haven't moved at all. He asked for me to do something. I said I would as soon as he did something for me. Goal posts are set, nothing has moved. Pretty simple concept really, surprising you have so much difficulty with it.
  7. Hopefully that remains the case. He could find out there is really $6,000 of damage and goes to a reporting centre anyways, claiming that some idiot in a wrangler decided to back up right into him and drove off.
  8. It was a generalized statement. You ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer.
  9. Hard to believe I actually have to explain this to you. Many times it has been stated that one of the objections to welfare, food stamps etc is the fact that it gets abused. At this point I have a hard time figuring out if you truly don't understand it, or if you are obtuse.
  10. So Who said abolish the welfare state? He stated it Now back it up! BTW He posted I wanted the welfare state abolished which even you know is a lie This gives even more reason for him to roll back his lie I will back it up as soon as you go on the Planned Parenthood thread and post how wrong you were about those videos and how needless kneejerk reactions like yours caused a madman to go on a mass shooting spree. Run away little one The adults are talking here They were indeed, then you showed up and had to post some gibberish

  12. Not at all. I do believe that evidence shows that a western society with less guns is safer than a western society with an abundance of guns. I believe that one of the reasons Toronto is so much safer than US cities of similar size is because gun ownership is slightly more difficult and we do not have a culture of walking around with them. I fully agree that guns can be used for good and that crime has been prevented because of guns. I also believe that banning guns in the US now would not have favourable results for multiple decades and likely generations. I ma happy Canada's historical path regarding guns has been very different to yours. I believe it has created a much safer society.
  13. I believe that under Alberta's provincial legislation that is considered a hit and run. There is a requirement to provide information. Sometimes that is tied to a minimum damage amount. With the cost of repairs, that minimum is often quickly reached. For your sake I hope he didn't get a chance to take down your license plate. I suggest reading Section 69 of the Traffic Safety Act. He hit no one The mini van hit him Thank you for demonstrating you can read, but that doesn't change anything. He was involved in an accident, he has an obligation to provide information under Alberta's provincial legislation.

  15. Not at all. I do believe that as a society we have a responsibility to provide a minimum of care to those in society. That means ensuring people have a basic level of preventative and emergency health care. It means that affordable housing is available to those who need it. It means welfare is available to those who need it. Those who do not need it, or who can afford more are free to do so. Nobody is a pet of the government. Though improvements can always be made. I find it odd that when it comes to gun ownership, most people find it "acceptable" that innocent people die from time to time. It is the price to be paid for the right. Yet when it comes to things like welfare, healthcare, food stamps etc. one person abusing it is grounds for abolishing it.
  16. Uh, no. None of those things that you are pointing at to minimize the story. The thing that amazes me is the fact that the school board closed all their schools down in reaction to the threat. The media did not create the story, the media did not decide to close the schools. The media did not send threats to the teacher or the school. The media did not gather in the local church to protest. The school chose to close with no actual threat. Its says that clearly in the article. Its also the last day of school before Christmas break so... The teacher more than likely grabbed Arabic text off the internet probably without considering its meaning. Some drama queen mommy did what she does best, create drama. She went to her church and stood in front of a handful of people in her congregation and latched onto some ridiculous drama grasping at straws. There is no story here. Americans are not categorically stupid or ignorant because a news outlet finds 1 mad mommy and 1 student to go on camera. If 1 mad mommy and 1 student going on camera, not making specific threats causes multiple schools to close.....well maybe ignorant isn't the right term, but it says something.
  17. Of course in other jurisdictions parents and children have to fight to get actual science education. http://www.wpbf.com/news/boca-raton-father-son-sue-school-district-for-not-teaching-evolution/36999330
  18. Yes, and you are making my point. As an elected government you don't want to be seen as Machiavellian, it will allow the other side to get elected. Being see as being Machiavellian probably means you aren't very good at being Machiavellian. If you do it properly they won't notice We are talking about the American government.....
  19. "Watts assisted with the setup of a radio program for his high school in Indiana, and later attended electrical engineering and meteorology classes at Purdue University, but did not graduate or receive a degree." Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Watts_(blogger)#Education_and_career Why would he need a degree? Rush agrees with him, so whatever he says is correct. This attack on his "degree" is just the lieberal lamestream media attacking. Well, shit! It took me 5 years at Purdue to graduate with a double major in engineering. Now they tell me I could have just taken a couple classes, then dropped out and called myself a "seasoned engineer".
  20. No wonder so many people support Trump. What a bunch of idiots.
  21. You were wrong stating that you were "just quoting John Kerry". You were attempting to make a point by combining commentary in the title with the quote in the body of the text. Hence, you weren't just quoting.
  22. Cause I am not thankfully If you truly think that the deniers are not in the minority, you might be suffering from delusions. Probably time to include mental health in the annual checkup.
  23. Yes, and you are making my point. As an elected government you don't want to be seen as Machiavellian, it will allow the other side to get elected. Like I said, it is a fine line between fear and panic.
  24. Yes, I believe those to be a pretty basic human right. I believe those are more important than a gun. Nope.
