  1. I'm reminded of the New York Daily News, a rabid anti-gun paper. More than once, they've shown a picture of a city politician holding up a shotgun with the phrase "...one more automatic weapon taken off the streets". It's really hard to hold an intelligent and meaningful discussion with someone that doesn't even know the words for the discussion. Agreed. It is much easier to have a discussion with somebody who strongly believes everybody who doesn't think exactly like him is out to confiscate all his guns.
  2. Yes most are good. But I think for many people confidence in police is very low now that it has been shown how easy it has been for the bad apples to never get punished or dealt with. Yup everything costs money. Though you have to wonder what the savings in lawsuit settlements would be.
  3. I haven't seen anything on it yet. Other than closing a supposed loophole I am not sure how much more can be done on the background check with current privacy laws and regulations.
  4. There was no question, hence "your logic is off" wasn't an answer. Rush made a statement, the logic was flawed in that statement. It was pointed out to him, by multiple people. He then basically responded that he was completely right and everybody else was an idiot. If his wheels are spinning in willful muck, it is completely due to his own will. No My logic is not flawed. You just do not like or accept it as reasonable. If you fell like you were called an idiot then so be it but I had nothing to do with that The willful muck I am dealing with is you. Thank you for proving my point.

  6. The only relevant fact that matters is that a cop killed a human. That should never ever happen, even if it means the life of the cop. That is the only fact that should ever matter, ever. Funny you post that, since at the current time the opposite seems to be true. The only relevant fact is that a cop shot a civilian and all you need to know is that it was justified cause somebody yelled gun and his hand was near his waistband....etc ...etc. Where we are trying to get is somewhere in the middle. Deadly force should be thoroughly investigated by a neutral party.
  7. Which is exactly the problem with police involved shootings. It is near impossible to get the facts. Up until the prevalence of cameras, the police themselves got to make up the "relevant facts", sometimes blatantly. Sometimes just a little omissions or a slight skew to help a "brother", since the job is dangerous and you know his family and you are sure he didn't really mean to do that.
  8. Yes you are right. Every person who has ever advocated for tighter controls or better background checks is really just after full confiscation.
  9. Rush, you are right I have nothing to argue with a person who thinks that when a bomb is dropped on a village and kills the population, then subsequent bombs are dropped obviously killing no one, that bombs clearly were never a problem since an increase in bombs didn't increase the body count. Such logical reasoning is indeed hard, if not impossible to counter and well beyond my abilities to deal with.
  10. How many of those 490 days did he host and meet with other world leaders, and take care of business as normal but remotely? He did go there but many of those days it was "work from the ranch days", not all idle days roping cows. I am sure Bush accomplished much more on his vacation days than Obama does on his. Because, Obama.
  11. Your logic is off. Those like you say that the number of guns in the US and the access to guns is part of the problem I post that a story that yet again (as it has been for at least the last 6 years) gun sales, gun ownership and access to guns, is setting records yearly if not monthly. I then remind you that that, according to FBI stats, gun violence has not increased and is in fact trending down as it has been for at least the last 10 years. Now, I never stated that because there are more guns there is less crime because that inference can not be made. However, it also can not be said that access to gun or more guns increased crime as some like you would infer in your posts here. Then you come back with that nice little turd of a retort, "Your logic is off" Once that little turd is laid a couple more come in and lay there eggs on it to try and save you Ya, MY logic is off Nice strawman. Your logic is off again.
  12. How do you figure that? If part of the job is putting your life at risk and you decide to pursue that career, how are you not making that decision intentionally?
  13. I see the problem. You think logic is magic.
  14. Bush took approx. 3x more time off. You defended Bush on that issue. Why is it an issue when Obama takes significantly less time off? You really should work on your logic.
  15. I am not going to waste any more time trying to explain logic to you. It wouldn't be very logical after that post.
  16. >Bush’s total for his two terms in office is 533 days, which includes 490 at the ranch and the rest at Kennebunkport. For comparison’s sake, President Bill Clinton’s total is 174 days, and Reagan hit 390 (349 at his ranch and 41 in Palm Springs), according to Knoller. From: http://www.factcheck.org/2014/08/presidential-vacations/ You defended Bush's vacation record.
  17. Lets say you have a dog at home and during the year 3 times you come home to a single chewed up shoe. The next year you decide your dog would like some company and you add a second dog to the household. That year only twice do you come home to a single chewed up shoe. Would you still maintain that dogs are not an issue with regards to the chewed up shoes?
  18. Your logic is off. So you can say more guns purchased has increased gun violence? The fact that this is your follow up questions further illustrates that your logic is off.
  19. That's great, do you have a point? Or are you just indicating you were able to copy and paste a section from the article?
  20. Agreed, which was my point originally. Even with "perfect training" it is nearly impossible to be truly safe at a busy show, hence the requirement for "empty and safety tied". Makes sense to me.
  21. Somebody please think of the car doors.
  22. In order to get the muzzle to point up, isn't it going to cross paths with people in a busy area? I wouldn't consider getting hit by a bullet anywhere, or getting hit by a fragment anywhere as "safe".
  23. I'm not seeing anyone saying "let them go." I'm seeing "put up a perimeter and wait them out." I agree that they are a bunch of idiots. And should face charges. But a big confrontation is what they are looking for. Don't give it to them. Just turn it into a big parking lot, that will end any conflict right?
