It doesn't matter what the point is. Why are you being so obtuse? For this argument it does. If there is no other point than my original point stands. You are saying it doesn't. Not sure what is obtuse about that.
-
How so? When you said you can drink alcohol and not become impaired but you can't smoke a joint and not become impaired. That was a distortion. What is the point of smoking a joint and not becoming impaired? Specially if we take medicinal use out of the equation and compare recreational alcohol use to recreational weed use.
-
Why? They are taking the substance specifically for the way their body reacts to it. Which, again, is the only reason I know why people use the substance. Which is how it is different from alcohol. OK, you've just refuted your own argument. What is taste if it is not your body's reaction to a chemical? I didn't mean to move the goal posts. I wanted to get away from the work impairment since it has a negative connotation to it.

Of course you would, they will believe anything you say.

That's the question. For weed the only reason I know of is the altered state. For alcohol that isn't the case. I see that as a difference.

Yup, running towards the thin blue line, the video off button, meetings to ensure stories match.

In as much as you calling someone a condescending dick is the online equivalent of getting angry and stomping away I guess. [shrug]

Are there people who partake in smoking weed just for the taste and try not to get impaired? My understanding is that the high is the purpose of weed, with descriptions of variants based on the differing highs, not differing tastes. Haven't seen too many wine reviews and descriptions based on the kind of high/impairment it produces.

Interesting. Your posting history shows that when people "call things as they see them" with regards to cops, you get very quickly offended and agitated. Not sure I could get offended, nor care what some ticket writing, license to murder, donut eating free-loader in a uniform things. Just calling it like I see it of course. You aren't part of the PC crowd are you?
-
I do. You can have a beer, or a glass of wine socially and not be impaired. Can't really smoke a joint and not get impaired.
-
No not kidding. I am not going into detail on a public forum, but instructors being stoned is not a big surprise to me. Out of all the activities I have been involved in throughout my life, skydiving has had, by far, the highest involvement in drugs.
-
Yet the people displaying the most frustration and the quickest path to name calling on this thread have been those making the same claim. That others are easily offended.

Those that can, do, those that can't, teach. And those who can't do any of that work construction. And those that cannot do even that are Canadian. Yup, that makes a lot of sense. Let me guess....construction? Yup, that makes a lot of sense. Let me guess....Canadian? Yup, proudly so. Our education system even allows us to understand the difference between occupation and nationality. Or maybe understanding the difference allows me not to work construction. [shrug]
-
Not that big of a surprise though? Drug use is rampant in skydiving.

Now if only people were allowed to have guns, this could never happen.

Using tax money for election messages is not "good leadership" in my books. Not sure what that has to do with PC speech, but you must have been out of sound bites. You realize he works for the sheriff right?
-
You hope a sheriff uses tax money to fund election messages? And you call that being a leader? But of course we need smaller government and lower taxes.
-
If you think that is why people comment, you are also delusional.

Charles Koch tosses a refrigerator into Hell
SkyDekker replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
On a more serious note: The timing of this is interesting. Might be getting to a point where subsidies for non-oil and gas based resource development and use is going to outweigh the value of oil and gas subsidies. It might soon be much better for Koch industries to have no subsidies as opposed to subsidies for renewable resources, electric cars etc. -
Are you Americans crazy enough to put Donald Trump in office?
SkyDekker replied to 434's topic in Speakers Corner
Nothing to do with a softer world. Just some common decency. No need to kick people when they are down. Generally you win so you get paid more. Minor, but important distinction. -

Clearly he is full of shit. The poor are only poor because they are too lazy to work and get hand outs.
