Which is why I asked her what the challenge was for her since it wasn't a requirement. You then suggested I educate myself about the process. However, there is no process required. You either didn't know that and are trying to weasel right now, or just used incredibly poor wording. See in Canada words have meaning, I know that for you it is more about the truthiness you can feel in your belly and the strong belief Trump will make America great again. No, you are right, I just assumed that Alaska at least required some training for CCW. I still wouldn't concealed carry without the proper insurance and training. So, you don't think Trump will make America great again? Cheers

How climate change affects real people. Today.

Just this month scientist got closer to proving a theory penned in 1916. 100 Years from theory to some proof. The science really isn't settled around Einstein's theories and predictions. Clearly the guy didn't have a clue what he was talking about. -

Well he's liberal, so he's exempt from hypocrisy. I will have to classify that statement. Liberal in the US, conservative in Canada.
-
Because whenever we talk about welfare or poverty on these forums, people like you and turtle are pretty vocal about how poor people wouldn't be poor if they just worked a little harder.
-
What's the challenge? You buy the gun, you conceal it, you go outside. Typical Canadian response. Educate yourself about the process. Why don't you even take a corse or two. You would be better for it. There is no process in Alaska. Try Google, maybe ask a teacher how to use it.
-
Aren't you an Alaskan in Alaska? No training, no license, nothing required if you are staying in Alaska.
-
But if those other people weren't so damn lazy, they would be rich enough to do the same thing and whatever policy you think he is pushing wouldn't effect them. So it is still a moot point if you believe poor people are just lazy.

Don't need concealed carry to shoot at the range. Concealed carry is about being able to defend yourself with deadly force. You specifically posted to be excited about being able to carry concealed, that is what people were talking about.

How is this a problem? If poor people are just too lazy to make money, how can you then get upset when somebody has money and spends it on himself only?

Are you Americans crazy enough to put Donald Trump in office?
SkyDekker replied to 434's topic in Speakers Corner
Wouldn't piss on him, even if he was on fire. -
Speaking of incoherent.......Obviously Bill's mind has been blown, making it impossible for him to get his head around the fact that that climate scientists routinely engage in exaggeration, fear mongering and hyperbole. Agreed. Doctors do it all the time too. They say stuff like, smoking can kill you. We all know that smoking itself doesn't kill anybody. Cancer kills, but no scientist has ever shown that smoking guarantees you getting cancer. If they are exaggerating about that, how can I possibly ever believe those doctors about anything else. There are even some doctors who say smoking is just fine. I mean my cousin has terminal cancer, and the doctor didn't even ask him to quit smoking. Obviously it can't be that bad.

I have lived through two pretty massive power outages in large metropolitan areas. None of them lead to the break down of society, even though they cost billions and lasted a few days. So in my opinion a power outage of that scale and a breakdown of society are not the same. If you go back you will see that you are combining Quade's comments and mine into one story and arguing against that as if it was one opinion by one person.

Why would anybody attack the American Dream.
-
I don't. Coreece asked for a scenario of a "disaster" then didn't like the answer. He then moved the goal post to preppers. He then complained about the goal posts getting moved.

SkyDekker replied to 434's topic in Speakers Corner
I am really hoping he does get elected. -
Right, the prepper angle was what moved the goal posts. Thanks for realizing that.
-
What a load of bullshit. A "massive attack" on cities electrical systems would result in a "power outage". I was indicating that this massive attack on cities leading to power outages is not the same as a complete breakdown in society which preppers seem to concern themselves with. You were the one trying to equate the two as being similar to make your argument work. Yet I am the one "moving the goalposts". Like I said, what a load of bullshit.

Same reason teachers are bad. I hae never seen or heard about a construction worker making kids recite "Obama, Mmmm MMmm Mmmm". Have you? But most teachers would probably realize that can't be the only qualification for "bad".
-
Though I'm skeptical of hitting all those cities at once, I am familiar with the threat along with the possibility of an EMP attack. That's why in the past I've stressed the importance of guns and having the ability to provide for yourself and live off the land. But when Ron and I talk about that stuff, we're just dismissed as a bunch of paranoid christian prepper nutcases by the same people putting their hope in Apple to protect them. . . Because engineering a power outage and a complete breakdown of society are two separate issues. Personally I see nothing wrong with being prepared, and more power to you. However I do make fun of people who think they need to prepare because the country is being led by a socialist Muslim Kenyan.
-
Same reason teachers are bad.
-
Right. not country wide. SO you hit LA, DC, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Miami and anything related to water infrastructure. That "localized" outage would cause billions if not trillions. Not like a simple electrical problem hasn't led to massive outages before. On the phone issue. It will be interesting to read the outrage from people when 2 years from now this technology is being used to "read" every person's smart phone...you know just to make sure you are all safe.

It is not often you are right, but every once in a while...

Ah ok, I get it now. Yes you are absolutely correct that you can have one minor toke and not get impaired. Now when we look at normal, recreational use of both substances, using weed and trying not to get stoned is not a very common occurrence. At least not that I am aware off. Uhm, no. Intent is not irrelevant at all. Actually intent goes directly to the point I was trying to make. The way I see it, the intent of recreational weed use is to get stoned. It is the purpose of using it. That is exactly where I personally see the difference with alcohol and why I said I certainly see a difference between consuming alcohol and weed.
