    Have you noticed that there are certain phrases that should set off alarm bells in your head. Phrases like: "What could possibly go wrong?" You'll find out when it's too late.     That's right. We try different things instead of stubbornly maintaining we got it right the first time. And your founding fathers did fuck up on the 2nd amendment. It is the main reason your country is as incredibly violent as it is. Theoretically there is indeed a way to change the constitution. Realistically Jesus Christ will appear again before the 2nd Amendment is changed.

Ok you got me, I'll be more specific about what drugs should be legalized when YOUR more specific about what gun law's from other country would work here. Within 30 to 40 years, really none of them. Too many weapons already in circulation. Quite frankly your founding fathers fucked up royally and have helped create one of the more violent societies in the developed world. If you want to possibly make things better in a few decades you would have to repeal the 2nd Amendment etc. Don't think that will ever happen. There are no realistic and effective short term solutions.

    What precisely has he been allowed to keep that the courts had the power to take away? Whether he leaves jail in 6 months or 8 years he will leave jail with nothing. But he is allowed to keep 7.5 years of freedom in the mean time.

    Yes the rest of the developed world is pretty much a gun free zone and we don't have anywhere the gun violence the US has. Maybe living in the US makes one predisposed to mental retardation, an inability to control one's anger and a tendency to go on murderous rampages. Or, maybe, just maybe, the easy availability of guns is a contributing factor to the number of mass shootings and the number of gun deaths in the US.

    So is your stated reason for carrying guns. Studies routinely show that having firearms in the house increases the odds of violent death. Since you seem to think that statistics don't apply to you, your argument in favour of owning guns is already emotion based.

Like trying to explain to Hannibal that the problem isn't with the Chianti but with the human meat. So you wouldn't. You don't mind the price paid, as long as you aren't the one paying. No, but then I would look at how to make my family safer in a car. You have already indicated you have no problems with mass shootings....well as long as your family isn't involved.

    OK (for at least the third time in this thread), how? You could start by looking at and learning from the rest of the Western World, where mass shootings are far less prevalent. It isn't like having less than 7 mass shootings in a week is impossible. If you believe that dead people is a fair price to pay for your right to carry firearms around, would you substitute your family for the 50 killed in Orlando?
