    Just got home and found a box of goodies on my front porch. I pulled out my new navy blue w/ wht stripes Sabre 2, I pulled out my bright ass red PD reserve, but then looked inside to find an empty cardboard box. I started panicking, the sweat was blinding my vision, my muscles started contracting, so I threw the box in an angy rage only to be surprised by what flew out..... ....it wasn't until it landed on the blue rug could I see its hidden identity

    Agreed. I haven't been to the USPA website in months but I visit this site every day I'm at work. I hate to break it to you old farts at USPA but this is called the "internet" and this is what us youngins use to communicate with eachother now. I get the same thing from AMA. "Come to Board meetings", "talk to your district manager". Why can't you just go to the place with the most members present at any given time and make it public? Wouldn't it be cheaper to post here than to hold a meeting at some fancy hotel?

    Just stay there, it's free if you bring a tent otherwise it's only $5 for a bunk in the bunkhouse and you can stay right on the DZ. There's bathrooms and showers right there. Just make sure you are strong enough to say no to the massive amounts of drinking that will happen, otherwise you may only get 1 jump in over the weekend edited to erase drunkin babble that I didn't mean.

    Also check out http://www.panoptx.com/html/va_motor.htm I use them for skydiving and riding motorcycles. Edited to add: I use the Velocity CV's for freeflying and they work better than any glass/goggle i've used and they look good too.

    I got there newsletter saying the PAC left for brokeback mountain. What's the story behind that joke? Are ticket prices going to go up? How many needed to put up a load? It might be better for wingsuiting but I'll sure miss the tunes on the way to altitude and the fact that it was brand new....come to think of it I've never seen a WS at taft in 111 jumps.

    This is not another "How to go HD" post. I want to learn how to be a pro FF'er in all positions and I want to know what get's more bang for the buck: time in tunnel or time in air? With or without a coach? I only stated I was beginning to learn HD so that you would know at what stage I'm at in my learning progression, it is not my only focus. So for me, knowing what stage I'm at, would it benefit me more to do a shitload of jumps or to go do an hour or so of tunnel time?

    I over 70 freefly jumps and 30 of those are coach jumps. I know have a real solid HU; I can take docks, 360's, flips, cartwheels, full stand, etc. I am now starting to integrate a little head down into every jump and have done a few solo head down jumps as well as some coach jumps. I am learning at a fast rate but I'm so anxious to start playing with the big boys. Here's my question: Money is not an issue so do I continue getting coach jumps or should I make a trip down to Perris and do an hour or so of tunnel time? I'm sure the tunnel is going to help tremendously but is it more cost effective then coach jumps since I have to start all over again on my belly and I don't get to work on canopy control every time.

    Don’t do it. It is only a good dropzone for Tandems and experienced canopy pilots w/ over 100 jumps. The big reason I say this is because the landing area is very small with lots of wind gusts coming in from the ocean. The larger landing area is a dried up river bed that is surrounded by trees. If you land off, you are screwed. Wait till you have some jumps under your belt and visit Santa Barbara as a licensed skydiver. It is a great view in freefall! Taft,CA maybe the best choice. It is the next closest dropzone. It has a pretty large landing area that is a bit more student friendly. UntamedDOG Agreed. I live in between both and go to Taft because there's no weather hold and it's not so much a tandem factory. It's also a more fun because people actually hang out after dark and party rather than just load up and go home. You'll learn a ton if you hang out after hours and talk to all the experienced folk.

    Wouldn't you rather know how to recover from a burble caused by an AFFI rather than have your 1st time be with your buddy with 100 jumps? I would hope I know how to recover from a burble before I got of AFF and who better to learn from than an AFFI w/ 1000's of jumps.

    Not meaning to start a brand war but a guy I jump with just got one and paid more than I did for my wings container. The general consensus at my DZ is that quasar's are pretty cheaply made, now whether that's true or not is strictly an opinion but in terms of resale that opinion goes along way.

    Relax. What other hobbies are you into? How good were you at your other hobbies in the first 17 minutes? You can't learn how to ride a bike or drive a car or snowboard or surf or skate in 17 minutes so what makes you think your going to be good at skydiving so soon. ....quit thinking so much and just have fun.

    It makes a constant quiet wirring type sound. Doesn't beep or respond to the buttons at all. I emailed them in the same fashion as I started this post and sent the pics along with it. Mads responded in less than an hour and must have gotten a kick out of it cause he's going to sell me one at cost. L & B have gone out of their way to help me out and I will always be a loyal customer because of this. Thanks.
