    speaking of which...
  2. They are still going to try. Feinstein has introduced this bill or something very similar to it every year since the last one sunsetted (if that's a real word). Schumer, McCarthy, Bloomberg, et al aren't going to give up. If the situation in Florida had been carried out instead of the perpetrator committing suicide then the outcome of this might have been very different. Damn, a good opportunity to exploit more dead children, right down the drain. Oh, well, timing is everything.
  3. Is that like when my phaser is on overload? I hate when that happens.
  4. What they said. Also, you're 3 hours drive time to Orlando. The tunnel there has great instructors who can tailor a session or 3 to helping you knock some of the rust off before your first recurrency jump (assuming whomever will be your actual recurrency instructors approve).
  5. Hey, this is neat. Do moderates oppose moderation? Or do they just oppose moderators?
  6. Let's all go have a beer. Might as well; we're being ignored in here.
  7. Hooah is Army. Oorah is Marines. He'll understand.
  8. Which is why I want gay marriage - why should they have all the freedom?
  9. Shouldn't that be "Oorah!" in your case? Yes, I see the icon. The question stands.
  10. Putting words in someone's mouth so that you can then argue against those "words" is about the most amateur and ineffective method of debate - about at the same level as "Oh, yeah? Well... shut up." So I guess you think wife-beating is OK. Real nice. Sort of like the poster I was replying to that you happen to leave his remarks out of your reply. So does your reply go for only thoose with differing views then you? Or would they go for the original posters reply to me also? Hm, it's true, he did it, too. Yeah, it goes for both of you. May I grab you both by the ears and bang your heads together, or would that be arrogant?
  11. OK, maybe this will help, if it's in plain language. 1. No, it's not just Democratic politicians who flip flop according to the opinion polls and phases of the moon. Romney was legend for doing that, since he campaigned for governor (and then governed) to a very moderate electorate in Massachusetts, then campaigned to a very conservative sub-electorate in the GOP presidential primaries. I linked the foundation for various concrete examples in post #12. 2. No, it's an arcane, simplistic criticism that the mainstream news media are presumptively liberal. There are many mainstream news outlets that are moderate and neutral, and many that are very conservative. I listed and linked a number of concrete examples of the latter in post #16. As for posts #19 & 21, those were inside jokes that I figured people who'd lived through the 1970s would probably get. ETA: I was also joking when I called you Claire Voyant in the other thread. I'm sure you could probably kick my ass.
  12. I can't help it if you, too, don't get the joke. OK, maybe it was obscure. Anyhow, timing is everything.

  14. I guess we're talking past each other. Seemed clear as a windowpane to me.
  15. So are you. You clearly haven't even bothered to read carefully, assuming you have that ability, you're just reacting like a dog barking at a car. Bad dog! Go home!

  17. It may be the point at which people forget that the only legal way to terminate a marriage is divorce.
  18. So, have you never changed your mind about any issue? I wouldn't have taken you for the sort of person who crystallized their ideas when they were 12 and have never reappraised them since. Chasing polls isn't a good character trait in politicians, but neither is intellectual ossification. I prefer people who can reassess their position based on new data, or who can actually shake off small minded prejudices they inherit from their upbringing. Don It is a flip flopping vs evolving if I remember correctly Of course whether or not you get a way with it is based on your party affiliation Indeed. For example, Google ( Romney + "flip flops" ) and you'll get 1.2 million hits: http://www.google.com/search?q=romney+%22flip+flops%22&hl=en&gbv=2&gs_l=heirloom-hp.3..0l7.6327.9173.0.9517.16.10.0.6.6.0.132.777.9j1.10.0...0.0...1c.1.8LwLfiHEKkQ&oq=romney+%22flip+flops%22
