    This. The driver was at fault, yet Adam's the one who's in jeopardy of criminal prosecution. If that sounds like an unfair tradeoff, well, we're not in high school any more.

    You know, I'm about as far from the tin foil hat crowd as they get; plus most of the OP's posting history usually makes me just go . Having said that, in this particular case, the context really cannot be simply ignored. I do think a thorough independent investigation, outside the control of any governmental authority, is called for. Anything less than that and I probably won't be satisfied that true due diligence has been accomplished.

    It is my understanding that the Bible states that the husband is the head of the household, his wife should support him and that he should love his wife like he loves his own body. The man should make his wife his first priority and his own family second. I don't claim to have remotely your quantitative knowledge of Bible passages. But I note the Bible does have the following passages that command the subserviency of women not necessarily strictly within the context of the marital relationship. Together with other similar passages, the clear message is not just husbands being the "head of the household", but of women being subservient, subordinate and inferior to men overall. For example:

    Interesting..if it were me and the plane is above 2500, i'm getting the f out (if that means getting those ahead of me out of the way so be it) ..thereby potentially disrupting the center of gravity the pilot is delicately trying to manage, and possibly killing a planeload of people who'd otherwise all be alive if you'd only sat down and shut the fuck up. I'd urge anyone who'd do a bone-headed thing like that to either land as close to their car as possible, or just drop their rig and run off into the woods.

    There is an epidemic of American school administrators behaving like stupid, heavy-handed - and yes, often spiteful - assholes toward their students at graduation and prom time. Every one of us sees such stories in the news over and over again.     Strictly as an aside - or maybe not - your question really should have been worded better for clarity. What it seems you're referring to is detaching your main canopy from the risers and pilot chute (and apparently from the d-bag? not sure) - but not from the container- so that you can sell the canopy but keep the risers, and pilot chute. Not really clear whether you intend to keep or sell the d-bag, but I guess you mean "keep". At least that's what I think that's what you're trying to say. I guess. To me, "detaching a main canopy from the container" is called "cutting away", which is obviously apparently not what you're talking about. And to add to what Pops said: in my book, knowing and using clear, proper nomenclature for discussing gear is all part of the package of "knowing your gear".
