  1. ...which is why I have to wear skivvies.
  2. Still waiting for those sources and specifics, please. Otherwise it's just a claim without substance, or at best, an unsubstantiated rumor.
  3. Need a reliable, objective source and some specifics, please. Otherwise impossible to evaluate.
  4. Just FYI for folks - in that particular scenario, that would pretty much nullify the angle we discussed in posts #'s 27 & 28.
  5. you dont I sure the WHOLE rig as one unit you insure EACH piece for the max value I.e.$2500 each That's an interesting (almost lawyerly!) idea. You'd have to be sure to individually "schedule" each separately-insured component, much like you'd individually schedule, say, separate pieces of jewelry under a homeowner's policy. That said, be mindful that insurance companies' claims departments exist not so much to pay claims as to minimize (or even avoid) payments as much as possible. So if your rig is stolen or damaged while assembled into a single (i.e., jumpable) unit, don't be surprised if the ins co's claims department tries to leverage that fact to their advantage. (In this specific context, it might be advantageous for the policy-holder to own more than one rig, so he can rebut the ins co's "single unit" angle by saying, if necessary, that that he switches-out the individual components all the time, etc. Come to think of it, that might also help you insure the components separately in the first place.)
  6. The Dixiecrat Democrats of the pre-civil rights Deep South had absolutely nothing to do with social liberalism. I know that you know that, and am frankly surprised you'd repeat such an easily-rebutted talking point.

  8. Sad, isn't it. Utterly. Beyond shameful. Well, in all fairness, Snowden claimed that he would face torture and/or the death penalty if he was returned to the US. It was part of his request for asylum. This letter was, in part, to rebut that claim. I do agree, however, that it's pretty pathetic that the US has to give assurances that he wouldn't face torture. Even more pathetic that the assurances are being given to - let's call it what it is - the Soviets by merely a different brand-name - the very same Russians that kill dissidents abroad with polonium and imprison Pussy Riot musicians for dangerous sedition. "We have met the enemy, and he is us."
  9. What is your objection to it? (It may be that the difference between your opinion and their opinion of what is appropriate is due to the difference in cultures.)
  10. If you write to the reporter, you'll probably get nowhere. If you write to the reporter's editor (and are respectful about it), you just might get them to print a "correction" blurb.
  11. Why Sabre or Safire in particular? Have you demoed each of them? Why not another Pilot in the size you want? Do you find your current one less than desirable in some way?
  12. Sorry, haven't heard of him. This may or may not help your investigation: 1. What due diligence did you conduct before sending money? 2. Did you protect yourself by using someone like a rigger or gear shop as an escrow agent?
  13. John, I just saw your post. I wish you the very best of success, as I think you and similarly situated folks are being treated outrageously.
  14. On the bright side, this contributes to a vital and noble sector of the economy.
  15. My choice: [x] Delete the thread and give you a warning not to post such stupid shit. 3,2,1, cya.
  16. THIS: Is not an answer to THIS: If the DZO has an incident and has a shit-storm of extra problems due to allegations (fair or not) about alcohol, his business and livelihood could be devastated. In the meantime, the regular jumpers will all sympathetically, and then just find another DZ to jump at. Just like all the bitching about the occasional DZO who bans hook turns, etc.: Until it's your own legal and financial ass on the line, don't be so fast to judge.
  17. Hey now that's not fair. History records that Bush and Cheney each served with valor in Vietnam, and both of Bush's daughters served in Iraq. And we don't let fucking movie stars sign acts of Congress or state legislatures into law. Just former movie stars.
  18. "We don't care" and "Fuck the French". Glad to see you guys maintaining time honored traditions.
  19. People have been answering their own question, but so far nobody has answered mine. See post #36 (not just snippets)
  20. But, but, what about our congress critters? JerryBaumchen Good, freaking question! That may be, but it fails to answer MY question.
  21. That's why I phrased my post the way I did. Perception is reality. I just don't understand why more Brits who scrimp and struggle just to get by from one paycheck to the next aren't galled by the extravagant lifestyles those people live, on the public tab, mainly due only to accident of birth or fortuitousness of marriage. The French had their own solution for that.
  22. If, in a time of painful austerity, the British citizenry are willing to tolerate so much of their public treasury being spent to finance the extravagant lifestyles of their extended family of celebrities, well.... that's on them. Isn't going to keep me from thinking " " about it, though.
