  1. Not New York . . . Gov. Cuomo is the dipshit here. The citizenry, law enforcement community and local communites/towns are deeply opposed to the SAFE Act. Seems that poll data on that question are mixed: https://www.google.com/#q=polls+%22ny+safe+act%22
  2. Which brings to mind the question: what kind of job (company) was being advertised for? Context would help.
  3. Ooh, excellent! "Obama's a girly-man." You guys are good.
  4. ^^THIS^^ I agree, too. It's executives in their 50s & 60s set in their ways re: style/grooming, because it was done that way most of their lives, so they consider newer styles to be grubby or sloppy. The IBM story up-thread, about them not even considering anyone w/facial hair 30 years ago, is a good example of that. Back then, the guys in management were born in the 19-teens to 1930s, and most of their lives all men in the US had been clean-shaven. Those of us who came of age in the 70's and had moustaches got a lot of shit about it from our dads. I'm in my 50s, and still getting used to professional guys with 4 days growth of beard. What, your razor's broken? And what's with this combing your hair straight forward? you look like 12 year olds. Rotten kids.
  5. Just as a side note (it doesn't really speak to your point), and FWIW, let's not forget that in many jurisdictions merely looking at, and especially downloading, child porn obtained via openly-accessible internet sites is a criminal offense. Is the criminal offense downloading the material though or possession of the material regardless of where you got it from? Just having leaked documents like in this story is not necessarily a crime, particularly if you've not previously entered into any kind of NDA that covers them. In the very narrow example I mentioned, most statutes in the US I'm familiar with make even the mere possession (although it usually must be knowing possession) of child porn unlawful, regardless of the means or source by which you came to possess it. But that might be more of an exception to the broader points that the OP and you are each discussing. I don't want to distract too much from the point of that discussion.

  7. Classy. There doesn't need to be a case, she just needs to be better than the alternative(s). I could go out to the jungle and find the first chimp I see and that would already eliminate that worthless cunt hillary. Classiest post in the thread. At least, so far.
  8. Wrong. I've written about a dozen posts to students who say that. Although each jump is expensive, there's no such thing as a "failed" student jump that you land safely. An AFF jump is training - it's practice - it is NOT a test. If you have to repeat a training level to learn the skills, that's what practice is all about. Get your head out of the mindset that the need to PRACTICE a training level more than once is "failure", or you'll set yourself up for needless and unwarranted discouragement. If your instructors intimidate you or make you think that you "failed" a training jump, then you need to find new instructors or a new DZ.

  12. Sorry you think it was so much different from all of these. Whatever. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4596783#4596783 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4596701#4596701 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4596908#4596908 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4596926#4596926 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4596823#4596823 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4596716#4596716
  13. Yep. Never attribute to evil genius that which can be explained by simple incompetence.
  14. You will find a thread about this in our Incidents forum: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4597280;page=unread#unread
  15. I don't see the problem here: To resolve not to resolve is to resolve. It's called "being resolute".
  16. I presume that means he either started the group or has moderator privileges. So his biased control isn't going to end as a result of challenging him. Can you start a competing online group of your own? If so, then you can do so and post whatever you want on it.
  17. That's a delusion? After all these years, I finally understand.

  19. The ad in post #10 happened to me once yesterday and again today. (Too late to "edit") FYI, it's happened 3 times today - each time I re-log on to the site.
  20. Having read thousands of police reports in my career, and seeing the way most cops spell, I'd probably wonder who the hell would blackmail a white canary.
  21. Please stop starting a new thread for every question you have. You're clogging up space here by doing that, and it's annoying. Seriously. Take a few minutes to think, then make a list of the various questions you have as a potential beginner, then put them in a single thread. That's the best way to get serious and polite responses.
