Only three skills you need. Pull, Pull, and Pull then Drink like Vikings. Get all that right and you'll be a super star in no time.

Congrats.....I should sail through the century mark at 180+ with a Head Down Attitude! Before the end of the year. Fly Head Down, Swoop Hard, Dodge Pies, Drink like Vikings!!!!! And for the ladies.....public nudity is highly encouraged.

Backsliding is a common problem with students. I will tell you that 5 sec isnt a huge seperation. I quite often go for 7 on calm days and as much as 12 if the winds are really honking at altitude. There are many debates on exit order! Check the "Order, Order" post on talk back. The bottom line is really this. If you pull at 3.5 then stop your dive at 4 or 4.5. Barrel roll and clear your airspace in all 3 dimensions. Especially when jumping by yourself there isnt much excuse for not having time to be safe. Yes on a big way you have to clear your space while tracking but when alone, take the time!

Skymonkeyone: Now that sounds like something I may try. Skymonkey hookup is the POOP!!!!!!!!!!
-
Phatasphuk: Ummmm....I think I'll stay away from any "Shade Tree Mechanic" mods to my rig....LOL. Thanks for the input though......
-
AggieDave: RW Solo sounds like something Schitzophrenic (spell that 3 times real fast) people do.....You dont happen to talk to your self (and answer) during the skydive do you? Have you ever found yourself under canopy and thought "Wow, how did I get up here?" I dont know Dave. How did we get here Bill? Dont have a clue Phyllis.

I'm an amatuer Gynocologist.......can I be of any help?
-
Grogs: I just hope you didnt cut away cause it wasnt your normal looking main!!! "Hey, that doesnt look like my parachute!!!!"
-
AggieDave: I dont have a pull out, I have a throw out! Yes, she must be smaller than a raft.......

Sounds like a great set up! I have nothing but praise for Dolphin containers. At 28 jumps (I think) I had a dual deployment on a Quasar II rig. I still have no idea why this happened. I also saw another guy from our club have one on the same brand container. I do however remember pushing the reserve pin all the way down on numerous occasions with that container. I have about 20 jumps on my (old model) Dolphin and I have yet to see the pin move at all. It is really comfortable and I have exchanged e-mail with the manufacturer who says they will do all the "free fly friendly" updates for about $300 and get it back to me in two weeks or less. I love mine!

PhillyKev: Thats why some people should just stick with golf or bowling....LMAO. Although it sounds like putting clubs in this guys hands could be dangerous. I used to make new guys that did things like this in the military say this 3 times real fast...."I'm a danger to myself and everyone around me!"

You can call me less of a man if you want but as calm as I am in the air.......I think just getting the erection in the first place would be tough. Talk about performance anxiety. You only have 64 seconds to get it up and get it done...LOL. I guess you could exit with "it in" and see what you can get done in 64 sec????? Yeah...the lubrication may be a problem. Hmmm....any volunteers for this experiment? Maybe we should apply for a federal grant to study this. We could call it.....Reproductive Health in a Free Fall Environment. LMAO

Has anyone ever tried to have sex WHILE skydiving? Hmm...watch those handles!!!!!!!!
-
AggieDave: Define "RW Solo" please.....LOL. Just a tip from a guy who dont know much....The best FF solo exit I have found is going out back to the wind standing up. The wind will take your feet out from under you and almost naturally put you in a HD position. Also keeps you from tracking up the line of flight of the aircraft. Just make sure you then turn 90 Deg from jump run heading to stay safe. Make sure you keep your eyes in the horizon to control backslide. (I used to like to look at the ground...backsliding like crazy!)

Well....stay single till the CASA boogie at Monroe so I can sweep you off your feet. Ahh....Rum....My old friend.......I should be a complete Free Fly God by then since I'm going to start working with the pro's at Skydive Atlanta to iron out any remaining quirks. So, we'll have to burn up some VRW. Like I said....Better every time you post!

Congrats on the swoop team deal. Peddling those canopies to the whole club are ya? LOL Did you actually get Greg to spend money on a canopy? LMAO I'll be callin ya when I get rid of this PD 190.
-
Well...I wouldn't say the "best" Alright you biased folks out there! Dont miss checking out SkyKat.com. Tony and Kate are good people and will set you up right. As I have posted before Tony once sent me out of his store to go find someone that was selling a used canopy because it was a better deal for me. Nuff said!

Chuck's got it.....Nomex Pilot gloves or Army tanker gloves(same gloves really, just different colors) are great. They have a leather palm which blocks the wind and are even flame retardant in case you try a power line landing. Pretty cheap from military surplus places like "sportsmansguide.com" $11.97 for a pair. Great dexterity but dont mow the lawn with them as they dont take a lot of abuse. They were made for Air Force pilots after all. (Candy Ass fighter pilots)

I have a PD 190 9 cell F-111 loaded at 1.28. I have a standard pilot chute(on it when I bought the rig) and I am wondering how much performance I am losing by not having a Kill Line PC? Is it worth my time and money to change it out. How much is a K/L PC. I think the neighborhood is $75.
-
I stopped trying to compare the two long ago. Now my standard reply is "It's the most fun you'll ever have with your clothes on!"
-
Lazer: It is not so much for turbulence as it is for turns. The inside cells have even less "relative airspeed" in a turn than in level flight while the cells toward the outside are going much faster(more air) The ports help to evenly distribute the pressure and keeps them inflated.

You get better every time you post! Tell me you drink copious amounts of beer and I'll be in love....LMAO

I highly recommend "Virtualtourist.com" for info on whats to see and do in any country around the world. You can even e-mail folks in the area you are planning on going. I have a page there too under "JrSkymonkey" not that it has anything about NZ...lol Havent made it there yet...I hear they have lots of sheep.......

Most likely....The worst thing about learning to Free Fly (not that I am God's gift) is horizontal and vertical control. Both can reach very high speed. Enough to kill you if you hit someone else. Thats why anyone with any sense will tell you to fly with an "expert" that can get out of the way if you try to take him out. Just reference the "Dammitt....You Corked Kenny" T-shirt for an illustration of the danger....LOL

Damn....it's hard to type while trying to pry this shoe out of my throat...LOL. Good deal and keep in touch...I'll see ya there!
