  1. Weather condition are quite good, but snow makes difficult to get to some exits i.e. la Mousse. I will be around nxt week. See you there. jerome
  2. Looks like lineover at the center cell, probably below the slider, which I can't understand (without mentionning line twists)... Anyway, great recovery. You deserved few beers. Jerome
  3. We just changed the robes to LaMousse and Yellow, so access should be safe. Waterfall should be OK as well, but the Nose could be challenging. jerome
  4. Great jumps and beautiful pictures, but next time for Yellow (and La Mousse) don't land in that field but cross the road and land on the path perpendicular to the road. Also, a group of ten jumping that bridge during the day was not wise. Have fun and Enjoy Switzerland! jerome
  5. May sound stupid, but it may be the rubber band type (natural, polymers, copolymers). The energy dissipated by the rubber band could be sufficient to burn it and then lines. But that should not happen with the usual skydive or base bands. So, I am lost. Jerome
  6. Thanks guys. Looks I have to negotiate a capital expenditure with my wife... oupps need to be prepared with excellent argument. jerome
  7. Anyone tried to fit a Ve103 into a RSK1 (with a PD106reserve and cypres). Thanks.
  8. Around the 90's, I opened my reserve for repack, and I/we did discover a strap wrapped around it. It was clear that reserve would not have inflated. We took some pictures for educational purpose, and obviously to get a free repack from the company who packed it. It was a grey Racer, but I do not know if it was my rig in the mentioned newspaper. First lesson learned: Errors are human. There is an intrinsic risk when skydiving, and we should accept it. Second lesson: pack your main carefully. Third lesson: don't try to fit a 150sqft reserve in a container that cannot hold it (in order to get a beautiful small rig). That will force the rigger to use extra tools or special process that are not validated. For the story, I did not get free repack and even not a bottle of red wine, but I am still alive. 11. After 40 jumps with my Velocity 103 and a loading factor of about 1.7 pounds/sqft. I am more than satisfied with its performance. It is fast, with accurate, smooth and on heading opening. I was jumping a Bluetrack 120 for some 1000 jumps, but the velocity is flying on a track, like a train, without too much oversteering. Of course, approach are fast, but it is flying safely with 50-100% brakes which is quite unusual for small canopies. Stall are safe, but you need to quickly react, since rotation may develop. For the opening, just do what PD is saying and you will see the best openings. DO NOT LISTEN TO DZ GURUS AND TRY ANY PACKING SPECIALITIES. Have fun and be safe. Jerome
