    Unfortunately Garmin removed the app. They do not support skydiving, basejumping nor any risky sport. I am going to remove all specific skydiving functions in the app and reposted it. For the ones who would like the full dkydiving app, they can drop me a email with watch type and i will send the app by email. sorry for that jerome

    I feel that this is bashing and probably defamation against the manufacturer. It seems that the intent of these persons is to keep the tread active to damage the reputation of Icon. Without proper facts and answers to the "piece of metal" question, the moderator should probably intervene, warn the users and delete the thread. Be safe all, jerome.

    An homing function has been implemented. When starting the App, the device will get the current location by GPS. This location will then be considered to be the dropzone. The App will display direction and distance to the dropzone in blue. Enjoy and let me know any ideas for improvement.

    To solve the Garmin new firmware bug with fast descent, the Apps has been modified and does not take the Altitude value from Garmin object, but read the raw barometric pressure. Users have reported excellent accuracy. Let me know your thoughts. The Apps is not yet compatible with Tactix, but will have a look if I can added it.

    Hello all, a new version is in beta. I added a page with 3D speed and vertical speed for the parachute ride. The Apps will warn you if you approach the triggers conditions of cypres or vigil. All data are recorded and sent to the Garmin Connect for analysis.     I am using a Fenix for several years now (fenix1 and 5), but I still have an audible altimeter. I know some feel very bad about not having a real mechanical alti, but it works for me... The only issue is to avoid any automatic firmware update. When an update is available, I installed it and then validate with 3 jumps. You need also to set the watch correctly. barometer should be set on "altimeter" mode; the Auto calibration set to Off, and only manual calibration before the first jump. By the way, I developed an skydiving application for the Fenix... and it's free. jerome

    Hello all, The new version is recording the data which are then available on the mobile Apps Connect. So, you can see speed, g, pulse. I forgot to mention that the barometer of the Fenix should be set to "altimeter" in the standard watch menu. The altimeter calibration should be set to "manual", no automatic GPS calibration during the activity For the one doing PG-Acro, a new version is also available.     Hello All, I developed a very simple Apps for Garmin Fenix (5,6) watches. The Apps gives you the altitude, vario/speed, max vario/speed, g and maximum g. https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/d845c527-7383-4073-93db-2fc1c7ac1bf5. For better accuracy, the altitude is measured via the barometric sensor, the GPS should be OFF. You can set a safety altitude where the watch will vibrates and bips. Not too sure it will be loud enough ;) I was nervous with the refresh time of the alti, but users report good feedback. I am not a developer, so be indulgent.     For sure, the majority does have a lower force, but some not, and I do not understand what could be the reason(s) and would love to find an explanation. Be safe. Jerome.

    Great video indeed. If someone can help me to solve an additional mystery. After packing, i measure the peak force and formalize it into a packing report. At next pack, usually 12 months in Switzerland, I do the same, but the peak force sometimes increases by up to 10 to 20%.( i thought about humidity and started to log it as well to see any relation, but not enough data yet). any ideas? jerome

    Not too sure, but to me, it is not about inflatable stabilizer, but about increasing the wing arc. The increase curvature at the tip of the wing so having a cell instead of a stab, improve the glide ratio, increase structural wing stability, and improve pitch stability.

    Thanks Rayf, but I did know this table. According to it, 107 does not fit, but Sunpath does not mention if it is 7 or 9 cells. So, I would welcome the comment of someone who tried it.

    Impressive tracking, but near massive object GPS signal got reflected, this "mutlipath" effect creates measurement errors. Simple physics formulas will highlight measurements incoherency. All GPS units are affected. Have fun jerome

    Yellow is often used as the wall for beginners. Getting to the last meter of the exit could be challenging but the wall is adequate. jerome

    It is true that the famous S (Yver) is now hot, and I would recommend not to jump it. Locals ask us to stop jumping there. They also warned me that they will call the police if they see jumpers around. The reason they gave me is “RESPECT”. We drive like crazy through the village putting children at risk; we shout at each jump and that even during the night; music at 10pm while arriving; jumping while horses are below; breaking fences… Now, the legal risk we face is important. Parachute activity is governed by rules (i.e. Droit aérien suisse), and the activity associated to the jump are also not always legal. So, don’t get caught, or you will be in serious trouble. Now, if some beginners need assitance to find another place to jump, they can drop me an email, I will assist. Be safe, Jerome J.
