  1. is it possible to have a 'stuck bag'? the forces generated by the PC are huge, it seems that bag would have to be very very jammed in there, which means that it was packed that way, right?
  2. Jari did it last year with special oxygen tanks. Contact him for info. Jar@bird-man.com
  3. Only problem I've ever had was caused by a lazy toss, with my pc dancing in the burble for a few tense seconds. Cured that with a 9 foot bridle. Now all clean and reliable, no matter how bad my toss is. Bill Stampfle at Elsinore does a 9' mod to your existing pc, for a reasonable price, and also sells new pc's with 9 footers. 909-660-4007
  4. Do not buy a Bird-Man suit. I am proof positive that it causes excessive smiling which leads to wrinkles. I had to give up my super modelling career because of that darn suit. The Bird-Man suit is the one you want. Superior construction, good customer service, they are local, and they are at many events throughout the year. Plus, there are certified B-M Instructors at many major DZ's.
  5. Skydive Elsinore is the talk lately and seems to becoming the Bird-Man mecca of the west coast. Must be the great mountain views and all those current and former super models. Check them out!
  6. Who's going to WFFC? Let's us Bird-Man jumpers that are going to WFFC all get together when there. There will be no 'official' Bird-Man tent this year (as of this writing) so there is no 'official' place for us to gather. HOWEVER, I will be there representing Mirage Systems, and would be happy to use the Mirage Systems booth as a place where we can meet and organize B-M jumps throughout WFFC. Look me up when there and tell your friends! Let's have some great flights together, especially from the the high speed CASA and Mullins high altitude! Tighten those goggles down to the max! Rob
  7. If anyone is contemplating a Bird-Man suit, but cannot decide which one to get, know this: With average skydivers, I've learned there is about a 10mph vertical difference between the GTi and the Skyflyer. In a real jump situation that means the Skyflyers end up way higher than the GTi flyers, with about the same distance covered, everything else being equal. In order to flock together, the Skyflyers have to 'fly dirty', which is not as much fun as flying full on. So look around and see what your friends are flying to help you decide what suit to get.
  8. WWW.HANGOUT.NO is a very groovy site indeed!
  9. unfortunately they rarely make it to the classifieds. the fever has grown to the point where people at the local DZ are waiting to buy your suit when you upgrade or change colors or whatever.
  10. depends on how much jumping you think you will do. go for the classic if it's once a month or so, GTi if every weekend. Be ready to long for that Skyflyer if you are jumping a lot.
  11. hey fordy, what is your speed without pulling the tips? rob
  12. Hey spy, also check out the printed responses in this months SKYDIVING magazine.
  13. that's my question too! what exactly is a 'flok'? hard to believe that nobody caught that before it went to press.
  14. Can somebody fill me in on this association and what it's goals are? Can't seem to find any info. Thanks
  15. hey ray, can't go wrong at either and they are so close to each other anyway...rob
  16. Thanks for that post Christine. I just learned of this tragedy today. I am delighted that I had the honor of knowing Chris and devastated that he has left this world. I watched his "My Summer Vacation" video tonight and he put another smile on my face. Chris is still all around us. -Rob Tonnesen
