Tom I saw your post and emailed Morpheus. They emailed me back saying that they had postponed doing their FJC until next year. Production is the highest priority right now. Focusing all their time and attention on gear orders. They felt at this time this would serve their customers best. They will be back in full swing with their FJC next year and are very excited and eager to get back training, mentoring new students and making new friends. Just thought I would let everyone know what I heard from them. Mark

Amen my brother!!! Can I get a witness!!!

Ted since you worked for the man do you have any ideas for Jason I am sure he would love any suggestions or help.

RL is absolutely correct. Nothing matters to these types of organizations other than legal action and or economic impact to local business in the area. Jason is doing the right thing by getting this out to the local and state media as well as the businesses that would be affected by the pull out of BASE jumping to this event. Not to mention the insane amount of TAX benifit that gets brought to the state and if there are specific county taxes. Unfortunately, maybe they need to be reminded of how they were impacted when BD was cancelled in 2001.

Damn just ridiculous!!! When I grow up I wanna be like RP or MP

Hey Chuck I am assuming you are right and you and Lou are in the know. Could you or Lou explain the technical differences between the two. I think that might help someone trying to decide wether they should buy a slightly used GTI or bucking up for the NEW suit. Exciting year for wingsuits that is for sure!!!!
-
I am assuming you mean actually jump testing them. Stane Krajnc the owner of Atair who is the designer and maker of the Troll BASE canopy is a very current and avid BASE jumper. He and Robert Pecnik of PF are great friends and jump together often. http://www.baserigs.com/docs/products/canopies/

Buying a first suit - what is the best option here?
Helmut replied to skydivingdutch's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Why dont you just give Rob and Kathy a call at Morpheus www.baserigs.com and ask them about how many suits are currently in the pipeline. Might be worth the wait if you have the cash I am sure our friend Robi won't let you down the phantom and acro are going to be great suits. Just look at what he has hit the market with in the last 6 months or so. -

I hope your not serious about Mexico and cliffs. The Potato bridge is the first time jumpers paradise. Most manufacturers offer first jump courses there as well as some others such as Johny Utah. Here are a couple to check out. I am a moron and dont know how to make these links live!!! http://www.baserigs.com/ http://www.johnnyutah.com/ http://www.apexbase.com/

Morpheus Technologies usually has some gear to rent. www.baserigs.com

I know I already have posted once but wanted to add something that some of you may have not known. Ron was a great hockey player. You figure a Florida boy would not have those skills. These are pictures after we won the league championship. Ron took a puck to the face but refused to go to the hospital. Wanted to make sure we won and he got his picture taken with the Stanley Keg. He was very excited that he finally got his name etched on that Keg. Once again you could not have met a better guy with more of a positive attitude he will be missed here at Z Hills Mark

This is just like any industry. Manufacturers announce new products to keep people from buy competitors products. Suprisingly enough it works. However, can backfire if products take too long to get to market. Guess we will see.

I really dont know what to say. Although I dont know Sarah that well and mourn her loss Z Hills has lost a great guy and I have lost a great friend. Ron was one of the nicest guys you would want to meet. Always had a smile and willing to jump with anyone who had a ticket. He was also a great ice hockey player. Ron will be missed greatly at Z Hills and in the lives of the people he jumped with. This just sucks! Blue Skies and Loooooooooonnnnng Swoops Mark

invoice 2236 here!!! I guess I was one of those guys killing the refresh button. I am sure I wont be the first person off the bridge because I will have to stop for funnel cake and red bull for breakfast on the way to the exit point!!!!

No doubt that skinny little bastard makes all us lazy elevator riding boat taking americans look bad. Need to get that guy on the chicken finger and french fry diet! Washed down with a tasty guiness!!!! James don't expect that when I head over for a visit!!!!

I agree totally if you have the means and can do it being able to do both is the way to go! Learning to freefly in the tunnel you can actually feel the learning curve! My name is Mark I had the blue and white FF suit and wings rig just to your left. We talked a bit in the packing tent with Judy and explained to me about keeping your hand on his reserve. A reserve fire that close to your face could have left a mark! The low pass jump runs were wierd I was glad to be out of that plane!!! That pilot makes me a tad nervous. Dont let Martin get you too hooked on that tunnel crack as he and Sally call it!

I was at an exit point on Tatooine at Beggars Canyon and saw one of those crazy ozzies doing what they called a chewbacca exit. They were tracking after 2 ft of descent. I am working on that exit. Your really able to out track those imperial guards!!
-
I have 45 minutes of freeflying with the same guy your in the tunnel with and another 45 on my belly so not very much at all. However, as you can see the person your telling to do both may not have the funds to do both. I said do 5-10 solo's then get a couple coach jumps and or make some jumps with friends that have a good sit. Not 15 jumps with a coach and pay for packers. So those calculations may be a tad on the high side You can also see the jumper in question spent the big tunnel money to fly on their back and get no where near a sit. This post was not intended to be tunnel vs skydive post. The tunnel is a great tool and truth be told if you can do it in there you sure should be able to do it in the sky. Just my opinion learning to sit in the tunnel can be a bit tuff and pricey and in the air a bit of an easier learning curve. Then again I am no pro and have alot less jumps than you. Hell if you got the cash do both!!! ps. Martin's been trying to get me on the tunnel crack for a long time. I enjoyed the flight down from altitude due to weather and the student cypress fire. See ya at the DZ

Stick with it!!! Solo's help dramatically. Do 5-10 solo's then get some coach jumps and repeat. If you can get a buddy who can sit and not move so you can have a reference mix them in there as well. Really work on being strong with your legs push them DOWN!!! It will eventually click. I am not a big tunnel fan for freeflying but then again I sure as hell am not Rook either. Not sure how much you will gain by spending a ton of money in the tunnel at the point you are at. Opinions will very!
