FlyLikeBrick - Flight Manual #9 - High Speed Exits

AWESOME, Thank you! Some dream of flying, i live the dream... -
Thats if you can see the direction of the twists. Load a canopy at 1.6 or more and it will just add twists. I speak from experience. My 2 cents: unzip arms asap, pull risers apart to pull head through and see which way the twists are going, grab appropriate wing sleeve material and untwist. What's your preferred flght time measuring device(s) ?
za_skydiver replied to likestojump's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I set my pro track to slo, but even then its always over 119 seconds, which seems to be the max on a pro track. I use my video camera, to get accurate timing. Maybe one day ill get a GPS... Edit to add: My Viso is usually not far off. (i also set it to slo) Some dream of flying, i live the dream... -
At the moment. Who knows when, but why buy a company if you are not going to sell the product? Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

Has anybody actually READ the statement? Birdman has CHANGED ownership, doesn't mean its gone, just means Jari is no longer the owner. Flame away Edit for smart phone spelling Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

I gotta agree here, I just recently got my Blade II, and its fantastic. And all it took was 6 weeks from when i ordered it till it arrived at my doorstep. Guy at my dz said he waited nearly 6 months for his V3. I think price, lead times and quality of build should all influence your decision when purchasing a wingsuit. Edit to add: Last i heard the girl in Cape Town making the JII wings was getting very busy with her other work, and i dont even know if she still makes them anymore, Anyone, please correct me if im wrong. Tandem flyby, how to get right timing?
za_skydiver replied to phoenixlpr's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I do this regularly on solo wingsuit jumps. full flight fly bys at no closer than 100 meters. I always ask the TM if its ok, and which side ill by flying past them so they can keep an eye out and point it out to the passenger, keeping in mind which way they are flying, especially if they not flying straight to the landing area. The TM's passengers love it. Some dream of flying, i live the dream... -
Ian's article was a nice article but it was more of a well written corporate puff piece with not one negative reflection You are very cynical. Not everything is about money these days, even though it might seem like it. I have known Ian since before he started skydiving, in fact, i was there when he did his first jump. He was a friend to me when i really screwed up, and a friend just because. His article about the experience can only be taken as a honest reflection. If you knew him, and read it, you could see the amount of his emotion that went into it. Well done Ian, I thought it was really good. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

Why front riser turns the canopy the way it does?
za_skydiver replied to sjc's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
If pulling the left front riser. Wouldnt it just be easier to say that the left side dives more to the ground, therefore increasing in speed on the left side resulting in less lift while dragging the right side after it, which is creating more lift? Some dream of flying, i live the dream... -
If you want to slow the opening down, just buy a bigger slider. Thats what i did for my Sabre1, i emailed PD and they told me what size slider to get for my Sabre if i wanted to slow the openings down. I dont touch the nose, dont roll it, or shove it in. I just make sure the slider is quartered properly and the stabilizers (the bits with Sabre logo on) is shoved in under the slider. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

Knew a skydiver from a few years back that had a belly button ring. Used to hang his car keys on it. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

I have the Diablo, purchased it last year. Customer service from Giovanni at Tonfly is great. The helmet fits great, and the top of the Diablo is big enough to fit a liquid flatlock on. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

That's for the whole team, not per player, like soccer... PS I really hope South Africa wins it this year, because (of politics) i don't think they will be a contender again for a VERY long time... Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

That's funny, when i emailed PD about the size of the slider for my Sabre 135, they said standard size is 20x31 inches. To slow openings down they recommended 24x31. I got a 24x31, because my 19x31 was banging open, and it solved the problem. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

Best way to fix my new 350D to my FF2?
za_skydiver replied to frogout's topic in Photography and Video
I got a liquid flatlock on my Diablo (Tonfly), just make sure you have enough space for one on your helmet. Its a big bracket. Some dream of flying, i live the dream... -
Just a bit Edit to add: I don't have stills yet, but ment to say i think similar to you. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

I don't wear gloves, except in the middle of winter when i can get frost bite. That, and it takes longer. Edit to add: Regular untwisting of the brake lines should prevent tension knots, and in my honest opinion, whether the lines' excess is stowed or not, you will get a tension knot if you don't untwist your lines... Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

Maybe the tension knots have something to do with twisted brake lines rather than the excess brake lines not being stowed. I have never stowed the excess brake lines on my canopy, or any other canopies i have packed . I usually untwist the brake lines on the first jump of the day and then about every five jumps.
