FACT. Homeopathy is BS. best way to see things is can you get a given treatment in a modern western teaching hospital?? If answer is no, then chances are the proposed treatment DOES NOT WORK. Good question. I draw the line at harming/stealing etc. I work in healthcare and look after old people who are very venerable. Most are Frail/demented to some degree. I feel very strongly about the proper care of others, animals etc. BUT I do NOT get this value system from a make believe GOD, the fear of eternal suffering or any other silly hocus pocus. I get this value system from myself and my friends. I do love to SIN though, mostly fornication. As I am just another monkey , I dont see any problem with behaving like one in my own spare time/private life. I am not bothered by the silly beliefs of others who are too stupid to believe anything other than what their parents taught them. I also do not respect their beliefs. This is one of the problems with society today. It is very unpopular to say something about someones race/sexual preference and rightly so, but WHY OH WHY is it still wrong to critisize someones belief system, when it is obvious that is is INSANE? I agree, teaching kids different points of view is not brainwashing. However teaching kids creationism in a SCIENCE class is brainwashing. SCIENCE is about EVIDENCE, and there is a mountain of it in support of evolution. There aint no evidence of creationism, not a shred. If we are to give them all the various point of view as you say, we should really start at the gods of the Greeks, those of the pagans, the egyptians and so on. We should not be letting religion be taught in schools. If it has to be , it is the responsibility of the parents only. The slippery slope is here now, with the possibility of I.D being taught in a science class!!! Science is about the real world, not about story book mythical sandal wearing beardy types... The poor kids in Louisiana are just going to be even more screwed now. screwed and confused. and they will make really good scientists when they graduate and go to university and dispute Darwin's theories. I couldn't agree more. Coming from a country that has sensible gun laws, low church attendance, low levels of racism, a healthcare system that is the best in the world (free at point of service..) and a liberal sensible government (although several things they have doen have pissed me off..) I can hardly believe some of the things I see posted here! I have come to realise that in the majority of cases, the USA is in fact 2 seperate countries... the bit at the top, the bit on the coast on the RHS at the top, and the bit at the bottom by the sea on the LHS are sensible and moderate/modern/secular/reasonable/not racist. All the other bits are mostly populated by gun crazy bible bashing homophobic racist country music loving anti abortion supporting booze swilling hicks. Granted, some of my best jumping buddies are from these areas but many have been brought up in the sensible bits and moved house. So it does not supprise me that many blatantly racist comments have been posted here in the run up to you guys getting a new president. Is is not obvious that the last guy 1.
