    Another cool pic would have been during the winter storms of 1983 on the coast of central CA. I was standing at Stillwell Hall nearly at the edge of the cliff and the waves were the largest I had ever seen, in pictures or in person. A Sailor from the Presidio was with us and the waves were actually rolling a bit higher than the cliffs. He said in all his years at sea he never witnessed something like that. As you might know Monterrey bay is very deep and basically a gigantic canyon going out the the sea floor. So when these waves got very close to shore the ground rises rapidly, adding a huge amount of height to the waves. As it got worse we had to get away from edge, even though it was all granite, the earth was shaking like an earthquake with every wave. It made us all feel extremely small and insignificant.

    I wish i had a camera the day a friend disappeared below the rooftop of the hanger with nothing out. This was in the late 1980s I was fairly close so the angle of sight was upwards but it had to be around 200-250ft. We ran to the other side to find him gathering his canopy up and laughing. Amazingly he got away with it too. If anyone knows who I am talking about (RIP) you know it is the truth. I can only think of three people who would do something like that and survive. The other two are living.

    Believe it or not I was actually quite handsome and extremely fit back then. The girl I knew who lined that up referred to me as a beast. Not so much now...

    I will admit that when I was 23 a few girls paid me to be their GF's "present" for her 36th birthday. I was a little nervous but she was a total hottie from Carmel CA. She was just a little blue because she had not had a role in a movie for more than two years. It all worked out fine, in fact we went out a few times after that.

    Obviously you never heard the chicks complain about me... And then they wondered why their friends tried to do me Normiss can sympathize here. One girl said something really funny at the DZ... She said my god all are the jumpers hung like mules or what? I told her no, only the males.

    What's really cool is seeing how you can actually compact the clays so hard that you cannot drive a rebar in with a 16 pound sledgehammer. But that makes it a pain in the ass to stake building boxes etc.
