Should I even bother to get my C license?
psf replied to HydroGuy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
do you want a "D" license? If you don't then don't bother doing anything else. If you want the D, then you need to at least be B + C qualified in order to get the D. You don't need to spend the money for the license, but do need to do the required tests and be qualified before you can get the D. ignorance is not bliss -
****but I am looking forward to the end of the season **** There's an end to the season??? Hell, winter is just colder thats all, its still all good ignorance is not bliss

My first car was a chevy chevette. I hit a small bridge in winter. The front panels were caved in, and bent the frame. The bridge guide rail fell into the stream. Didn't total the car, was to poor, so put a large ass chain to the frame, tied it to a tree, and threw it in reverese over and over again till the car "felt straight", then went to a junk yard and found panels that "kinda fit". Drove the care two more years, till finaly in senior year I entered it in a demo derby. ignorance is not bliss

any way you look at it, herbals or prescription.... they are all drugs with some kind of side effect. The key is knowing what the trade off is.... are you willing to put up with the side effects for the result? What kills me is when a person demands to be given a prescription but are unwilling to change their lifestyle. ie. asthmatic smoker that works in a tire burning plant..... quit smoking, and get a new job... and maybe you won't need as many drugs... food for thought. ignorance is not bliss

My father has made two tandem jumps and loved it. He only has his left arm (Right amupatation at shoulder), and he wants to go to skydive on his own. Has anyone ever dealt with this? is it possible? I was thinking a tandem rig, with brakes anchored at leg straps so he could flare both, or have either close to turn. Any thoughts/ideas? ignorance is not bliss

I own one now. Chows were raised as guard dogs for the ruler of china way back when. They were raised to be loyal to and protect one person (the ruler), thus, their tendency even today is to be a one person dog. My dog will ignore other people, and only listen to me. He was raised not to be aggressive, and he isn't. My kids could pull him out of his food bowl, and he would do nothing, but he only listens to me. take it for what its worth, but I would get another chow some day, I have had no problems with him. ignorance is not bliss

I consider myself as a "low timer", not because of my jump number, but because of my awareness of the skills I have yet to aquire. To me, its not so much the jump number, but the skill that one has that seperates jumpers. That being said, I understand that you don't get skill without jumps, but jumps in themselves don't necessarily have skill ignorance is not bliss

narrow minded on my part..... I jump at a small dropzone where max load is 6, with usually 2-3 going low..... so its usually who evers left tries something together unless there is a specific goal of a jumper... ignorance is not bliss

I never really thought about this. I jump with who ever wants to at the time. I don't ask, nor care what the number of jumps someone has is. My question for the groups is: how often do you ask how many jumps someone has? Thats a question I just don't ask. ignorance is not bliss

QuoteHumans, far as I know, are the only creatures who kill for fun and pleasure. Bobcats are vicous killers that often will go in a killing spree and NOT eat anything. Biologists feel this is done for amusement. So, there are some animals that kill not for food. not many, but some. ignorance is not bliss

what is so special about a bar???? the price of beer is expensive. I LOVE my DZ where all I need to do is open the fridg and pic what I want. What is the difference between a bar and a DZ with beer? other then the cost of the drink? ignorance is not bliss
-
just my two cents... been riding 20 years now don't buy the extra's with the bike. Get them seperate or at a different place. might be cheaper. The bike is low power, but you will be able to control it without difficulty. Why only 60 miles on it? any repair work? crash with rebuild? Honestly, if you are fine with possibly upgrading in a year, and the bike has no history, go for it and enjoy. ignorance is not bliss

Absolutely, I would continue to dive. My biggest fear in life is to live to long, and die a slow death. To die skydiving, well, at least it would be quick. ignorance is not bliss
