Hummm let's see so many. 1. Im always talking to myself and sometimes I answer. 2. I have hundreds of T-Shirts but only wear the same few each week. 3. I HAVE to know what Im wearing the next day BEFORE I go to sleep. 4. I have my "Good" car which HAS to be spotless and then my beater which I could'nt careless about. Mind you my beater probably was my "Good" car at some point. 5. If I am traveling I HAVE to be home before dark on the day I get home. (If at all possible) 6. I got hurt on a jump last year, and ever since then I have a hard time enjoying the ride up to 13,500 I have to be serious and focus. But then once I get out the plane Im fine. 7. When I get home I HAVE to take my shoes, and watch off, and take my wallet out my pocket, and unless I have company I HAVE to put some shorts on even if it's -20 outside. : 4: 1 I had a great day on Sunday. I bought some new pants "tracking pants" they work great but besides that it was just a fun day of jumping. I had my first run out landing. In fact three were run outs, I guess my ankle is really getting better after the brake last season. Anyway my last jump was GREAT. Did a 2 way swoop and dock it was awesome then we just kept flipping and docking. I guess that might sound boring to some but when you are in my position and just getting off student status it's great to see another jumper in the air. Z-Hills has it all, and if you want to skydive it's the place to be. You can basically live there. It is Skydive City. Pro Shop, Rigging Loft, Creeper Area, Large nice packing areas, snack bar with good food, bar, very large deck for spectators, nice people, and a huge landing area. If you go there you will say like McArthur " I Will Return."

Skydive Orange is were I had my first jump and where I jump on a regular basis. I have never been to the DZ and not had a good time. The instructors are top notch and folks treat you really nice. I live 90 minutes from the DZ and will jump in my car and drive there like Im going down the street, I like it that much. The rental gear is first rate, our Super Otter is KING, and just hanging out watching skydive videos is cool too.

I came up with Thesaint when I was riding motorcycles. Everyone in the club had a nick name and since I generally try to do the right thing and treat people right I thought it was a cool name to have. I also like the old series with Roger Moore and the movie with Val Kilmer. PS. Hi guys, well I’m black but my picture probably already gave that away. I was reading through the thread and laughing a bit along the way. My input here is in no way "THE" answer only my own thoughts and conclusions. I think there are two main reasons why more blacks don't skydive. 1.) Ignorance, blacks just don't know anything about it. Anybody can tell you that folks tend to stay away from and fear what they don't understand. When I talk to my friends its obvious, but when I start to explain all of the safety procedures and protocols built into the sport and the equipment I see the fear melt away. Then as the ignorance is replaced by knowledge their whole demeanor shifts from "the arms folded in front" No Way in Hell posture to Hummmm I think I might like to try that. 2.) The lack of other blacks in the sport. I cannot explain this one but I do know it's a fact for SOME people. Some blacks just "need" to see other black people I guess they have their reasons. Personally it's not a problem for me. Seems like I gravitate at times to things that most black folks don't do. When my wife and I went to ski Europe it was the same way. Someone mentioned economic reasons and where in the past that was probably valid it is no more. Black people spend money on what they want to spend money on. At the end of the day Iam very happy to say that while I haven’t traversed the globe skydiving, at least not yet. I have been to a hand full of drop zones and have ALWAYS been WELL received and treated like just another skydiver part of the family and I really appreciate that. I have been able to convince a few of my black friends to experience the joy of flight and will continue to encourage others as much as I can; they don't know what they are missing. ... After two years, a broken ankle, and fibula and countless trips to the DZ I finally got my A-License. My best wishes go to the staff at Z-Hills where I finished everything this past Memorial Day Weekend. I don't think it's sunk in yet. I would also like to thank the staff at Cleveland Parachute Club where I did some training. Last but certainly NOT least the staff and members at my Home DZ Skydive Orange, Va. Also I'd like to thank John who did an RW jump with me. (My first) We got 5 points......... Needless to say last weekend was a blast for me. Hummm Im not a pilot or an engineer but I do know that most aircraft wings and air frames period are built only to take stress in ways related to flight. Any other type of stress is always bad. Hang in there, I know how you feel and I've wondered myself why I have been afraid in the door when the whole point of a skydive is to "GET OUT THE DOOR AND BEYOND" You are not alone. It affected my body position at first because I could not relax even after I left the plane but my instructor helped me by making me do that silly thing you do you know with your finger and your lips. He made me do that before we climb out. That made me relax a little. Also I would just yell at the top of my lungs when getting out, that released all of the tension I had built up. It worked.
