  1. My 13 year old would like a paintball gun. Is putting a paintball gun in hand and sending him off to shoot at his friends encouraging him to be violent? I think it sounds like harmless fun, but some of my immediate family is completely opposed. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
  2. Best blonde joke... Two blondes are hanging out one night and there's a full moon. One says to the other, "Which do you think is farther away, Florida or the moon?" The other blonde says, "HELLO...can you see Florida?" Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
  3. Thanks...I will PM him. With all the people here, I'm surprised no one else owns this car. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
  4. Thanks JoeG. I don't think I'm allowed to tamper with my husband's car, but if I decide to get one for myself it's definitely going to be disabled! I have a Honda - an Odyssey. It gets 20 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. With the continued increase in gas prices, I see down-sizing in my future. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
  5. After 20 years of owning an assortment of Saabs, my husband decided it was time to forgo style for environmental awareness. So, he bought a Prius. The gas mileage is phenomenal -averaging 53.8. It's roomy, quiet and relatively comfortable. I'm thinking about getting a second one, but I have one issue with the car that drives me nuts. When you put the car in reverse, it makes the most annoying beeping sound. If you have a Prius, do you know if you can turn that off? If you have a different hybrid, what sort of mileage do you get? Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
  6. Hello Joe ~ welcome to our little happy world! I'm relatively new also, and I affectionately call my new affliction "Jump Lust". I can't think of anything except skydiving! Good luck to you! Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
  7. It seems like there are alot of injuries early on. I keep telling my friends that I've gotten my broken bone out of the way. From here on out, it's soft landings and no injuries. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
  8. 1. Set up regular office hours. 2. Don't snack while you're working 3. Don't answer the work phone after hours. 4. Make sure your office has decent lighting 5. Don't let your employer take advantage of you because you work at home. 6. Go out to lunch 7. Don't put your office in the basement 8. Don't do it unless you are a self-starter. I have a degree in accounting and I worked for a "family" with numerous domestic and foreign businesses. As long as I was productive, they were happy. However, the thought they could call me anytime of the day. Good luck. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
  9. I came to visit my family for Easter and my brother told me that they are opening a DZ in Garrett County, Maryland about an hour from my parents' house. Does anyone know anything about this new DZ? I read an article about it in the local paper, but any additional information would be appreciated. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

First time I jumped with a woman First time I jumped in FL First time I jumped at a drop zone other than my home First time I jumped with my own altimeter First trip to the wind tunnel First time I stood up in the wind tunnel (sorry again for that Ron) I'm sure I owe beer somewhere - do I take it to my dz - or wait until l get back to FL? Is there a "beer rules" thread? Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

  20. My dz is in Northern VA and it's very cold in the winter. Almost everyone that does RW wears a closed face helmet. I'd like a closed face helmet if I can stand it. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
  21. When I was trying on the helmets, I noticed that I felt REALLY claustrophobic in the closed faced helmets. Will that go away? When you are in freefall, does your close faced helmet feel ventilated? Do you pop it open right after you make sure you've got a good canopy? Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

  23. I encountered it while studying for the SAT 22 years ago. It was locked up in my brain with a bunch of other useless words until today when I unleashed it here. Hopefully, the 50 cent words will not nullify my post. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
  24. Just so there is no room left for misinterpretation, let me elaborate: Ron has wonderful people skills. Ron is benignant, compassionate, personable, and insightful. He was the perfect coach for for me - a skydiving abecedarian. Basically, he laughed with me - not at me
