Did your mom ever drive morning carpool in her pajamas?
jumpjunkie2004 replied to jumpjunkie2004's topic in The Bonfire
So...I was driving carpool this morning and I look up to see a cop with a radar gun. All I could think is...OMG...of all days. I looked down at my speedometer. Shew....it was a relief that I was only going 5 miles over the limit. I was in a hurry when I left and forgot my purse. Can you imagine???? Getting stopped in your PJs and then not even having your drivers license???? Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat... -
I'm the opposite. I pretend I'm okay when I'm in severe pain and want to cry. I refuse to cry when I get broken or injured or when my arthritis hurts so bad I can barely walk. I get up and dust myself off and keep on moving. I think I've spent so many years without support that now I'm used to not having it and when people try to help I don't know how to act. I don't own any nightgowns : ( All my PJs are things I bought to wear at my cousin's farm. It's REALLY cold up there. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat... -

Well...did she? I don't feel like getting out of my pajamas. They have long sleeves and long pants - solid color - pale lime green. I didn't sleep well last night. So, I'm thinking about just going as is and then coming home and going back to bed. Can I do that? Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat... -

I finally figured out who I'd call : ) I'd call Verizon! I'd ask them to make a big conference call with everyone in my phone book. There are so many people that I love I would have a really hard time picking just one or two : ) Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

That's very sweet Scott : ) When people tell me that I'm beautiful or sexy, it usually just makes me laugh. I do receive validation from the people in my world and so I know that other people see something I don't. Are you skilled at hypnosis? I am thinking the only thing that will help me is something that can penetrate into a part of my brain that isn't reachable otherwise. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

Thank you to everyone who responded and got my meaning. The intellectual part of my brain is fully aware that the subconscious part of my brain doesn't have an accurate idea of what I look like. Over the last couple of months, I've seen a couple of pictures of myself and thought "I look thin in that picture". My very next thought is always, "I wonder if there was something wrong with the camera?" Maybe it's the lighting. Maybe it's the angle. My obstacle is the mirror. I look into the mirror and I see something different than everyone else. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

Not so much. "Damaged" is a metephor unless you are actually talking about a broken bone or something. If you're using a metaphor such as "damaged" to describe yourself I can't imagine it comes from a happy place, but rather a sad one. Sounds like you have some friends here that want you to be happy. Perhaps seeking out ways to be so is a good idea.

This made me chuckle : ) Thanks! Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

By the way, I'm not mad at my dad about it. He was ignorant about the effect that it would have on me. Now, I am not fat now and I'm not thin. I'm at a weight that is just right - according to the scale. However, I don't see that in the mirror. I wonder if I should go and see a hypnotist. Maybe he could make my brain see what's really there (or not there). Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

You seem to have gotten my point. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

I'm not sad. I'm damaged : ) There's a difference. Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

I can lose weight, but when I will look into the mirror I see a fat person. People can tell me that I look great, but I can't see it. It's not that I'm trying to fish for compliments - I really don't see what they see. When I look in the mirror, I see a chubby girl. My dad used to call me "Fatty". So...what's your damage? How did your parents (or family and environment) screw you up? Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...

That is a bummer! : ( My cousin taught college computer courses for awhile. The worst thing she encountered was a mother that called her to complain about the grade that her 19 year old son received on one of his projects : ( Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
