I didn't try to show my opinion by the post, I just tried to help you guys define what is flight - that is not just a movement in the air. the call the squirrel a flying on not in wain
-
gliding - while gliding is a kind of flying
-
I AM special
-
in this very case wiki simply repeats textbooks on physics. and please, go and tell your boring 'jokes' somewhere else.
-
and from wiki again: "Gliding versus powered flight Some things that fly are not pushed forwards through the air and can only glide, for example flying squirrels, this is termed gliding. Others have a source of useful forward power and can climb, this is termed powered flight."
-
the definitions imply not simply having control but also using this or that method of movement. wikipedia says: "Flight is the process by which an object moves either through the air, or movement beyond earth's atmosphere (as in the case of spaceflight), by aerodynamically generating lift, propulsive thrust or aerostatically using buoyancy, or by simple ballistic movement."

me too tend to decide the same color scheme as mine (that's not really mine) previous suit
-
hahaha, I 'painted' my future ws last night, too - but I was going to pm the variants to people, not just post them here
-
thanks for the explanation. poor beginners having to fly the unstable suits with narrow leg wings
-
but on the other hand the wider leg wing kind of 'brakes' the speed - I mean, its horizontal speed, isn't it? I can understand how it can help at landing in base jumping... but still feel not sure about the cross like body position a pilot should get while flying a ws with wide leg wing on it's full range. but I must be just wrong, and I'd like to hear some other counterarguments to make sure that I really am

I tried on a Phantom 2 this weekend - belonging to a guy but small enough for me to try it in the sky later on. The suit looks nice but the width of the leg wing surprised me a bit. I mean, I've tried not so many wingsuits by now but their leg wings were always significantly narrower. Then I noticed that it looks like not only PF but also other ws manufacturers introduce the suits with wider leg wings quite actively these days. But can someone explain stupid me what's the reason of this feature!? I mean, I can't catch how the wider wings improve aerodynamic characteristic of the suits - they can make them bigger and more mattress-like... but how else do they improve the flying?

nice show, thank you for sharing the link

you must be too experienced. I hope they'll chose me

ыщгтds like you think that without your vid no one would read the articles you're a king indeed I don't remember and don't want to rewatch the illegal video... but isn't there your credits in it? I think that after such a publicity you'll have much more clients as you have now
-
found the ways - thank you
-
so we won't be able to download your wonderful vids anymore?
-
I don't know if I'll be able to visit the event but I just want to say those who hesitate - go there and visit the beautiful county! I hope that the boogie is as great as the land
-
I mean doing smth instead of complaining about people hurting him (by not paying him, by stealing his vids and so on
-
I'm a fan of the clip and Visa is my hero
-
no, I wasn't the one who started to dream up about commercial nature of the purely journalistic/unbiassed articles and Birdman making money on someone's hard work
-
oh! I actually wanted to write how good it is when wingsuits appear in the press great job!
-
I don't know how it happens in UK - hope Mark will tell us - but here we, the press (I've been working in different publications for all my life) normally try to get and get stuff like this for free. I mean, for example now I'm preparing an article about extreme travels. or unusual travels. like those with the aim to jump a tandem in Himalaya. or to climb a mountain. and I'm getting photo materials illustrating the text from the travels' organizers FOR FREE. you may remember the case when you was paid by the magazine I fork for for one picture of TopGun guys flying their wingsuits. but believe me - that was a personal favor from my side. I mean, I persuaded my chief that we wouldn't be able to get a better pic and so we need to pay - even though we could (and maybe should) get not worse pics for free. anyway, there is a very simple rule: if you want to be paid - make a contract and get the payment. if you don't do it - do not complain afterward. I think that the guys just forgot that you're not a team anymore - though personally I don't blame my ex teams for this or that, I'm always proud of the fact that I was a member of this or that team, and of course, I don't tell bs about my exs

based on my own experience I highly recommend you to devote your time to exploring the different types of canopies and things like this instead of trying explore wingsuits. yep, I may sound as boring as some other people in the thread

the discussion was discriminating from the very beginning but now I'm leaving it not because I submit to the discrimination but trough the simple fact that I try to keep my posts number lower than my jumps number. and since skydiving season is still closed for winter here... I can't waste my posts anymore just don't make this discussion a witch hunt. making mistakes and breaking rules is not a crime - it's human nature.
