Hey, SlotPerfect...Do you know a guy named Monty Walls. He is from around your parts. I just bought his Sabre 135 from him...still havent jumped it yet, but it looks great sitting in my living room. FANDANGO!!! Its not about skydiving, but there is a 20-30 minute scene that rocks. The movie has Judd Nelson & that guy that was in waterworld/the postman/dances with wolves. Hands down, one the BEST skydiving scenes ever!!! If you havent seen it...check it out! You wont regret it. Lately, it has been showing in Starz or Encore. -Slut "I'll jump anything!"

yup, i met lyle while i was down in sebastian this winter...great guy and a great friend to a bunch of the people up here in New England. We have a new swooping pond and he is going to put on a swooping contest and canopy control classes & stuff. That should be real cool! I dont know if you could do it, but it would be pretty cool if you could personalize the homepage to your DZs local weather...so when you log in, you get a link to weather.com or something so you can see what the weather is at the DZ. Is it possible??? -Slut "I'll jump anything!"

I think that its safer for younger people to hang out at the DZ rather than anywhere else...granted there is some "odd" behavior at the DZ but it is usually in check and relatively healthy... -Slut "I'll jump anything!"

I highly suggest that you get video...because I dont really remember my first jump. Sensory overload...Big Time!!! Plus its cool to have the jump on video so you can see the look on your face for your first jump...because there will be more to come. Have fun! -Slut "I'll jump anything!"

I would definately recommend going to a skysurfing school. There is a whole progression on learning that skill. You start on small boards and deploy on your belly, move up in size until you can deploy while standing...its a tricky thing to get used to from what I hear. A good buddy of mine used to video for a skysurfing team. He ended up strapping on the board 9 times just to check it out. He said that he got caught in an unrecoverable spin. He had to cut his board away...he said that it was REALLY scary. Very disorienting and that he would never do that again. -Slut "I'll jump anything!"

I have heard some mixed reviews about Para-Gear. When I ordered some stuff from them, they had it in stock and it came quickly, but I know people that are having a rough time getting equipment from them. Also, I just ordered a gear bag from Sunshine Factory and they said that it would take 4 weeks to deliver...ughhh. I would suggest that if you are going to buy your gear from an online/phone order place...ask them for delivery times before ordering and hold them to it. Nothings worse than waiting for shit that should have already been delivered. "I'll jump anything!"

yeah, dude...watch and learn. 90% of the stuff you need to learn you are going to learn on the ground. But that is a great thing to have at your DZ. Make use of it...I would! They are always having camps too, so maybe you could get into one of those too. "I'll jump anything!"
