Yeah, kinda ironic isnt it??? In the old days you needed 100 jumps to jump a square...now, you would need 100 jumps to jump a round.

I definately agree that you should focus on quality over quantity in this case. Also mental practice and muscle memory...just make sure that if you are going to be practicing some muscle memory techniques that you are doing them right. A coach might help if you are at the DZ, but a mirror can help at home. A fun kinda drill that you may want to do if you find yourself with no one to jump with is this. When you are in freefall, cross your arms across your chest (oposite hand on oposite shoulder). You are going to have to find yourself arching a bit more to keep you head high. Then go ahead and turn without using your arms. See what happens. This is a good drill to gain leg awareness for post AFF students...and just a fun thing to do.

He certainly hasnt done that here in Sebastain....

Apparently his new airlocked/crossbraced canopy should be out shortly and the price of that is going to be cheeper than a velocity. I would really like to get my paws on something like that....

How did that tracking dive go yesterday??? Beautiful sunset, huh??? And a bitchin flyby to boot at the end of the day by the Skyvan & Otter!!!!

Get all the grips that you can...Bigger, in my opinion is better when it comes to grips. Go with Merlin. Their ProComp Suit has thick padding in the knees. It gives you a buttload of surface area, so much so that, when you are under canopy and you pull on a toggle, you will notice the drag that surface area creates and itll whip you right around under canopy. It flies great, looks great, and very durable. I have about 600 jumps on my first one and it still is in great condition.

I have seen it and its great. Well worth the money. Enjoy!!!!

You can pick up a Skydive U video. Basic Body Flight. Its pretty good. It has visual representations of the physics on what the wind does in relation to different body positions. Then they have Jack Jefferies jumping and showing all different types of flying. I havent seen the other one, but I have seen the BBF tape. Its quite good.

I have read the other thread about this. I have a similar set up, minus the bungee to wrap around the slider. I have only one bungee that stays on the reserve flap. I have a piece of material that is sewn on to my slider. I then attatch a large rubber band on that piece of material. Once I am open, I wrap the rubber band around my slider once and onto the ball. Very easy to do and will come off easily. Stays on, and keeps the slider out of my vision. Every rigger that I have talked to prefer this method to any velcro.

Yeah, I agree...I have seen them carve 180s on Navigators....

No worries on the picture...sorry its not too clear... They dont have FOX in Australia??? Do you guys have indoor plumbing??? Just kidding...

yep, an ounce of prevention...I guess. It has been all over the news down here as to what the vaccination does to you...yours sounds pretty typical from the reports that I am hearing...but then again I am not a doctor, I just play one in bed.

They are starting to give small pox shots to all healthcare workers in Florida now. They are starting with a few counties and they are going to start rolling it out to the rest of the state as well. My g/f is a nurse, too...lucky her.

I like the closing pin collar you got on her....much more creative than the bottle opener collars that I see on most dogs...

I saw a whole thing about this on Nightline, 20/20 or some other news show about him last night...pretty sad. They still think that he is alive and that if we go back into Iraq...it could be bad news for him. The guy that is banging down Congress' door to get him back is his best friend that married this guys wife shortly after he went missing. kinda odd.

I guess that they are test jumping a new high end performance canopy in Deland....Vladi, Jimmy, & Rickster. From what I hear the swoops are incredibly long. Sorry no other info than that...very hush, hush...I am very interested to see what they are up to.

You know you're a skydiver when....

I really hope that you can get that cat piss smell out...that happened to a good friend of mine and it never came out!!!! -
I dont expect miracles on Level 1s, especially if they havent done a tandem before. They are usually pretty freaked out for most of the skydive and their recall of the event is usually pretty poor. I could tell them that the sky was purple and they would believe me. So without seeing your jump I wont make any specific comments. For level 1s, I like to see overall good body position and altitude awareness and a nice stable pull. I ask myself the question "Would they have reasonable success at level 2?" If they cant stay stable...especially at pulltime or they arent altitude aware, then no...they are going to have to do level 1 again. These are the BASICS. If they cant do the basics...how are they going to succeed in more advanced manuevers. No biggie...it happens. I would rather see a student repeat a level that was borderline and do well, than have more trouble advancing to another level and blowing it completly. One thing that I noticed was this... Maybe its just the phrasing that you use...but make sure that you READ the altimeter...dont just look at it. Take your time up there...you dont have a lot to get done in 55 seconds or so. Be altitude aware!!! and remember...Pull!!! Pull at the right altitude and pull with stability. Practice the stuff on the ground until you are blue in the face...if your DZ has one of those realtime altimeters, use that to develop your internal clock. Its easier and cheaper to practice on the ground rather than in the air. Good Luck, be safe and have fun!!!

Really good lookin people too...I think that I saw them on the new reality tv show "Are you hot?" or was it Jerry Springer...I cant remember, COPS, maybe???

Any man that has a sponsored Budweiser RW suit is ok in my book!!!!

Yeah, thats one thing that I miss about Deland...all the free food and beer. Especially the beer, because nobody really drinks there. Except for Rusty & Dag. Is rusty cooking today???

I thought that it was 14, but this is going to be their 300th episode...by the way my g/f got me a pretty sweet Moe's Tavern T-shirt for V-day. Pretty funny.
