  1. Ditto, like I said, blame and attack the other person cause it could never be YOU. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  2. There, fixed if for you. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  3. While what you say clearly represents you well do you think it gives any credibility and support to the issues that you are discussing? Do you think that name calling, bashing, attacking or telling people that they are not your friend anymore makes people even remotely give consideration with any credibility to your post? Is there a reason why you blame others for YOU getting banned because of YOUR actions? You might want to read THIS. Look at Billvon, we have had heated debates here that are about as intense as they can get but do you see Bill be disrespectful, degrade where people live or resort to childish name calling……..NO! I wish you well and hope that 2009 brings you peace all the best that life has to give. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!

  5. These are too funny…… After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS ' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers. By the way, UPS is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident. P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement. S: Almost replaced left inside main tire. * P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough. S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft. * P: Something loose in cockpit S: Something tightened in cockpit * P: Dead bugs on windshield. S: Live bugs on back-order. * P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute Descent S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground. * P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear. S: Evidence removed. * P: DME volume unbelievably loud. S: DME volume set to more believable level. * P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick. S: That's what friction locks are for. * P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode. S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode. * P: Suspected crack in windshield. S: Suspect you're right. * P: Number 3 engine missing. S: Engine found on right wing after brief search * P: Aircraft handles funny. (I love this one!) S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious. * P: Target radar hums. S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics. * P: Mouse in cockpit. S: Cat installed. * And the best one for last * P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer. S: Took hammer away from midget. 6. WE DID! I even still have a piece of it on my desk so what do YOU personally have to prove me wrong? Are you really trying to compare melting a few ounces in a controlled setting to the WTC? What the hell are you taking? I don't nor have I said so, that is a figment of YOUR imagination not mine. To think that the only two fuels were Jet A and office equipment is laughable. We detected over 150 different chemicals alone. It is not possible according to whom, you? You come here with no relevant education, expertise, firsthand experience, test data or understanding of what happened and we are supposed to believe YOU????? NOT!!! A quote comes to mind "This is way above your pay grade". Listen carefully, there was NOTHING plain and simple about what happened there. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  7. Right, without a single trace of residue or detonation evidence in the whole 10 block radius...........NOT! Or yours. Again, I WAS there, you were not. I AM an engineer, you are not. I WAS one of the FEMA task force responders there doing sample testing and structural analysis for safety briefings, you were not. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  8. Thanks again everyone. My wish is for everyone to have a life as blessed as mine has been. Cherish your friends and be kind to others.

  12. Yes, I am raising my prices effective January 1, 2009 but it has nothing to do with the rule change. I review my cost every year and make the appropriate adjustments. It is the result of increased expenses such as taxes, materials, utilities, insurance and cost of living. The only thing that I can give away to customers that does not cost me anything is NOTHING. I put a per hour opportunity value to my time. That is what you pay if I pack rigs, sweep floors or do engineering. The nice thing about a free market is that if you don’t like what your rigger charges or the quality of service that they provide you can go somewhere else. 15. I voted for nurse because it gives you the best options for a couple of years of college. CPA pays a lot more but you can't get it with 2.5 years of college. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  16. (1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up. (2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house. (3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine. (4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It! (5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.) (6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake. (7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever'). (8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU! (9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  17. There are several problems with it. It takes an enormous amount of land and infrastructure to make a small amount of power. SEGS runs on residual retained thermal energy till about 10:30 at night which is about the best they can do. It is also very expensive to make solar power. It cost about 11 times more to make power by solar than it does by nuclear. There is also the issue that solar is weather/sun dependant which greatly limits where you can put them. SEGS is located in the Mojave Desert and has about 340 good solar days a year, Florida has half that many. Solar has its place where it is great such as remote areas, water heating and small commercial applications but not on a national utility level. I also think it has great potential in the future for vehicles. I have a 75W panel on my golf cart and never have to plug into the grid to charge it. 18. Controlling it is the cheap part but I am talking about the ability to store power and distribute it when and where it is needed. That cost is astronomical. That is why the largest renewable utility in the world hasn't done it. There are three reasons utilities are doing anything with solar: Carbon credits, tax credits and public perception of good will. Solar cost us 7 cents a KW more to produce it than the retail cost that we bill it at. And if you want to talk about land cost of generation vs solar there is no comparison. Again, look at SEGS, the largest solar facility in the world and it takes up 2,000 acres to make only 350MW. You can put a nuclear plant on 200 acres and make 2,400MW and produce that electric at a cost that is 11 times LESS. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!

  20. Define “First of its kind” I don't need to look it up or trust you as I work for the utility and I am on the team for the project. I am presently writing a reliability matrix for it. The Martin site is the first hybrid/combined cycle in the nation. What Victorville is doing is just a smaller version and a year behind. Also the 75MW is just the first stage. We have 11,700 acres at this site to expand. Victorville’s plant has a capacity of 563MW with 50MW solar. Ours is 1,200MW combined cycle with 75MW thermal solar in stage one so if anyone is adding a “few MW” it would be Victorville. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  21. It is located at the Martin plant in Indiantown, FL. The contractor is Ausra. We are also building solar units at the cape and Desoto county. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  22. Copper is not used in the grid and changing to an intelligent national grid is incredibly expensive. Except the highest demand time is not during max solar productivity time. Also, the power plants cannot ramp up and down fast enough to compensate for solar PV/wind fluctuations. We are required to produce capacity demand plus 20% and solar is not part of the calculation. It has to be fossil, nuclear, hydro or geothermal. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
  23. Not really. The first hybrid combined cycle/solar is already half built. The 1,200MW combined cycle unit is up and online and the 75MW solar is under construction with a March 2009 completion date. As to Bill's response, solar PV will never replace units anytime soon as the grid is not set up for it and it is weather/sun dependant. Other than remote homes and small grid ties the impact is insignificant. The best hope is hydro and nuclear. There is presently a project being tested to use the Gulf Stream for hydro power. If successful it could provide 40% of the nations power requirements. As for dependence on oil, it only accounts for 9% of our fuel requirements here in Florida. Also we don't have any coal plants in our system so the railroad tracks and ash disposal is not an issue. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
