Actually I've had a great week. If you think that anything that happens here determines what kind of a week I have you are mistaken. You must be confused, show me a single post where I backpedaled. Not only has my opinion not changed but as posted it is shared by others. And your point is? I took no position either way and it did exactly what I wanted it to and that being to seek information and opinions of others of which most were constructive. I did no such thing. It was not my creation and I simply copied it from the news site in its entirety as reported. Now if you want to dispute the accuracy of the claims made in it knock yourself out. I posted a poll here a while back about going to a popular vote system so that every vote would count and something like 66% were in favor of it. I think that would be a good start. That way, voters would not be taken for granted and only a few states garner all of the attention. Think about it, in 2000 we elected a president that did not have the majority of the popular votes. Think how things would be different today if Gore had been here for eight years? Would the economy, environment be better? Would we be in a war? Here is my view on it and it applies to BOTH candidates and politicians in general. Politicians will say whatever it takes to get and stay elected. Yes, you are right in that there are those times when they have a valid reason given updated or additional information to support the change but more often than not it is for political gain and therefore overshadows the times when it is valid. Hell, we have seen both candidates in this election change a position the same day. The problem also is that voting records are like the internet, once there, it is for life. Actually one has to do with the other. I work in the electric utility field. The new generation of combined-cycle systems use natural gas and are more efficient than oil fire units. The problem is that there is really only one source of natural gas in the capacity that we need and it comes from Texas by pipeline across the gulf. As a result we have to keep the oil fire units in case we lose the line. If we had multiple lines, say the Destin Dome we could do away with the old oil fire units and as a result reduce our oil dependency. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!

I don't have to discredit Obama, he made the confrontational statements on his own. Fair enough, so how long do we wait to factor in the whacko factor as it was in at least four major news sites as headline news? Also there is still that whole "get in their face" and "argue" statements from Obama that I am sure does not help matters given how there are a lot of people out there that it will provoke. If he had said go out and be proactive and talk with your neighbors and friends and be passionate about it, that would have set a whole different tone. And if people are really honest here and you asked them what they would do if someone "got in your face" I think you would see some violent response. I guess you didn't read what I wrote that you quoted. It was reported in the mainstream news and I put it out here for discussion, if you can't handle that it is YOUR problem. It is not discrediting me as I did not report a false crime to the police. I agree. If it does turn out to be a hoax I hope they prosecute her for reporting a false crime. I think it is just as bad to pull a hoax as the crime because it instills hate in people that routinely results in retribution crimes. Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!

If you victim had an "M" carved on her or a McCain sticker or she was not killed in an area where white women have been killed and left before then I would agree, but that is clearly not the case. Absolutely not. In the crime that I reported the robbery I will agree was just that, but when he saw the sticker and carved the "B" in her face it then became a political hate crime. In the case that you stated and by your own admission had nothing to do with political hate crimes but rather another race crime that has happened before in that area.
