Why do you think I am asking here? I know Canon works for skydiving. Your response is meaningless.

Adapt Conceptus Tongue Switch for Canon to fit Nikon D700
shogo replied to jwcotting's topic in Photography and Video
i just ordered a canon 3 pin version of this (10 bucks) and the 2.5mm-3.5mm conversion cable (2 bucks). Might wouk for you, too. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/615570-REG/Dot_Line_RS_RTC_N10_RTS_Replacement_Adapter_for.html# -
Looks promising for skydivers. What do you guys think? Buffer/shutter speed as good as Rebels (I am talking about the Panasonic ones. GF-1, GH-1 etc… Not Olympus.). Reviews on image qualities are actually pretty good. Stereo-plug shutter release. Tiny fixed lenses. 16mm fisheye, 28mm and 34mm. (35mm system equivalent.) I just ordered 7d because I thought full frames are still too expensive. But 7d weighs about same as 5d MkII... Kinda defeats purpose. http://www.dpreview.com/previews/PanasonicGF1/ http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonicdmcgh1/ http://dc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20090902_312633.html

Royal .2, Optica .3 and Raynox .3 CX-100 Lens comparison
shogo replied to Cyrus79's topic in Photography and Video
I had both at one time, because I thought the same. Raynox 3030 is wider than century 0.5 by quite a bit. -
Does Sony HVR-MRC1 work with HC1 or HC5 (or consumer HDV)?
shogo replied to shogo's topic in Photography and Video
Thanks. I thought it was a good idea to get more out of my tape based camcorders, but it sounds like there are a lot more to this. I will probable go with cx100 or new version of cx12. Man, this sports has a very expensive hobby built within it... -
Baby Death Lens (MKII Century 37mm .3x wide angle)
shogo replied to bomb420's topic in Photography and Video
Would this new one be better than baby death? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/577501-REG/Century_Precision_Optics_0HD_FEWA_43_0HD_FEWA_43_Ultra_Fisheye_HD.html I mean resolution across the frame. I guess it came out with that 0.5HD? They put "HD" on the new ones, perhaps for a reason. I e-mailed them, but no reply. They don't disclose lines per mm like raynox does. So I was wondering. Another thing... I wonder, using that (bigger lens) with a step up ring 43mm-37mm, is it like putting a 15mm fisheye (for 35mm format) on a APS-C sensor? Would the filed of view be limited? With a step ring, we are using the center part of the lens right? I have had baby death for 4 seasons. I like it a lot but i am always looking for something better. -

Does Sony HVR-MRC1 work with HC1 or HC5 (or consumer HDV)?
shogo replied to shogo's topic in Photography and Video
How about HVR-MRC1? I thought that if I can get what I can get from HC5 into solid state (CF) would be pretty cool. Though HVR-MRC1 cost as much as CX12. By the way, how does it work? Is the content on tape same as the one on CF card (MPEG-2)? Is it compressed like AVCHD? I always thought that the tape was uncompressed format. Sorry for lame question. Just curious. -
Does Sony HVR-MRC1 work with HC1 or HC5 (or consumer HDV)?
shogo replied to shogo's topic in Photography and Video
Does Sony HVR-MRC1 work with consumer HDV camcorder with i.Link? The consumer camcorders work with imovie as a camera and mac computer as the recording device via i.Link. Just wondering since I hear AVCHD is not native on Mac. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/580065-REG/Sony_HVR_MRC1K_HVR_MRC1_Memory_Recording_Unit.html#features -
By the way, do you know if this lens is somewhat optimized for 16:9 camcorders? what are their words on this? I have both 0.3 and 0.55 from them (37mm). I also had 0.65 converter at one point. Looking at my videos, I think these lenses were made for 4:3. 0.3 especially is very soft at edges. Not so noticeable on the jumps. but very apparent when i am looking down towards the ground when i am tracking away. Just curious.

Thank. I was wondering if that was it. I did not know it started at 37mm. I thought it started at 43mm and we had to use a step up ring. In case any one interested. http://www.schneideroptics.com/ecommerce/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?CID=1506&IID=6711 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/577500-REG/Century_Precision_Optics_0HD_05WA_43_0HD_05WA_43_0_5x_Wide_Angle.html

you have talked about this new century 0.5 in a few different posts. when is it coming out? are you talking about the one for camcorder with larger filter thread (bigger than 37mm)?
-
Go here and rotate the cam. You can see the bottom of the cam, where the screw hole is located. http://www.sony.jp/products/Consumer/handycam/PRODUCTS/HDR-CX120/parts.html

-But...Canon has some sweet things up their sleeve. Wait'll CES 09' Were you talking about these? (Vixia HF S10 and Vixia HF S100) Or are we expecting an affordable still with 1080p video function, like Rebel or xxD. 5dMkii is still pretty expensive... Thanks.

Custom camera helmet, Wes Rich CCM style... FINALLY finished!
shogo replied to The111's topic in Photography and Video
Question. How is the top plate mounted to your helmet? Is the top part of the helmet completely hollow, or does it have a folded surface like Flat Top Pro from Bonehead? From your picture it seems like the plate is secure by the screws from the side and the top. Thanks. -
Is this different from the 0.65 converter they had before? Or are you talking about a new 0.65 lens with thread size other than 37mm?

New Maryland dropzone needs your support!
shogo replied to Pawnmower's topic in Events & Places to Jump
How much are jump tickets? A friend of mine Donny is supposedly doing tandem there. I would like to check it out. -
It does have AV remote. But I think the LCD screen needs to be out to record. No good.

Apple's solution is that they give you free download for imovie 6, and suggest you to do those effects in imovie 6 and import video to new imovie. They also lowered the price for final cut express from $299-$199. I completely agree with you, too. I thought no one in right mind would take these features out of. But that's that. Might want to check this thread, too. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1285062&ts tart=0

a prototype of a new Century lens coming soon... Is this going to have a 37 mm thread? I have been checking the web since you posted, but I have not seen any news on this. When will we see this lens? Zoom converter or just an adaptor? Thanks.

Have you heard something new on this information?

Thanks. I can't wait to see how the new technology will change our habit.
