I'll be using a .45 Kenko lens, CamEye, and plain tinted eyesight. Question for you - I just got an HC-30, Is there an easy way to remove the handstrap or what is common practice to stow it? I see what you mean about the LANC socket being in a less-than-ideal spot, too. I'll be mounting it on my old Pro-Tec first before hacking up a brand-new BoneHead. (My "beer" endeavour at building a camera from scratch) Easy Does It

We've got one up at Sky Knights in East Troy, WI. (not far from Milwaukee). Does four loads an hour without breaking a sweat. I guess it's not too bad on fuel, either. Easy Does It

There's a few tricks to it - In this case it was the layout of the holes - They had to be dead-nuts on, then threading them with a 1-inch tap. I kinda cheated and chucked up the tap and ran it in with the drill, using lots of tap-magic and jogging the start-stop buttons. It's all done now, the 1,000 hp motor will be arriving tonight and we'll mount it up Monday morning. I've got a fellow coming in to laser-align the motor to the gearbox it's coupled to. Not a bad deal at all! Easy Does It

Absolutely. I've been with the company since it was small, and I ran a one - man shop. Now I take care of five guys and over thirty million buck worth of equipment, and I have nice thing going. It would take a very nice offer to even start to lure me away. (Like, 78k per year, comapny truck, bonuses, 401k and four weeks vacation my first year, plus a nice medical/dental/vision plan.) I got a good thing going here. And I'm done with these holes! Time to wash up and call it a day! Easy Does It

I can't complain at all - Of course there are days full of B.S. but just about any place has that to some degree. I'm in no rush to change jobs at all. But if I were to come across an opportunity to do something groovy in the same general field, with higher wages, and more attractive conditions and benefits, etc. why wouldn't I look into it? OK I got the first 3, also - But not in a jump plane - Rather in the cockpit of an F-4E while I was stationed in Iceland years back - Interesting body posistions I must say-! Easy Does It

Here's a pic of the magetic base drill in place, all the layout work is done and I'm ready to start drilling holes and tapping them to take some 1" diameter bolts. Easy Does It

That sounds like TOO much fun! I run the maintenance department for a plastics compounding company - As long as all the machines are running well, (which they usually are, or I wouldn't have gotten a fat raise this spring-) it's like Shop class - I get to build things, design stuff with our R&D department, all kinds of neat shit. I'm an electrician/mechanic/welder/pipfitter/fabricator/supervisor/etc.etc - - - Of course, I always keep an eye open for new job opportunities. This work is beginning to take it's toll on my body, I'd like to find something that pays as well or better but not as physically demanding. Just don't know what to persue, though. I've pretty much hit the ceiling here at this place. OK - Time to get back at it, break time is over! Easy Does It

Mag drills are so handy - Like a portable drill press. So far it's taken me an hour to begin establishing new centerlines for the bolt holes - Shit's gotta be dead-nuts-on. The motor is due here this morning. It *only* weighs about 500 punds more than the motor that came off. I hope our forklift is big enough to swing it - mmm - hole tapping - Fun at home or in the shop! Easy Does It

I LOVE MY JOB!! I'm off to do an retro-fit on a machine - We have removed an 800 horsepower AC motor (Reliance) and are replacing it a 1,000 HP motor. Great Fun!!! Cell Phone Pics to follow. I'm off to get a magnetic base drill to start drilling and tapping some new holes. WOO-HOO!! I Live for this shit! Easy Does It

DRINKING THE BEER AFTERWARDS!! Easy Does It -
Ash and Celeine have something very special and unique at thier Fly-in, Homestay-style B&B and Dropzone. With 21 years in the sport and 16 years as a Safety & Training Officer in Oz, Ash is very safety-minded, and thorough with the tandem work he does as well with experienced jumpers. After checking my rig, logbook, etc. we did a review of my emergency procedures and I was given some pointers on technique. This is a new DZ, which is getting great assistance from awsome friends. But that's just part of it. The house is an awesome restored barn, with three guest rooms. The vibe is great, and the owners are the most fantastic persons and cooks you could imagine! If you're looking to make a ton of jumps, this is not the place. If you'd like to take your S.O. for a relaxing, romantic weekend getaway, some great company, to make life long friends and a few jumps, this is the perfect spot! I made six jumps over a long weekend, and they were no doubt some of the most memorable! The rolling hills and crisp air, and a vibe that is nothing less that fantastic, this has added a new category to defintions of dropzones! I will defintely be back, again and again! By the way, it's an AmberBock dropzone!

Wing owners – how do you pack your d-bag?

Ankie must get that question a zillion time a week - I also called her when I got my new container - Grommit against the reserve tray for this kid. Otherwise, it just don't fit too good! Hey Ryan! - Congrats to you and Kristy!!!! I thought I heard a whole bunch of hearts breaking while I was jumping out at Oz - - !!!! Easy Does It -
I touch them occasionally in freefall to reinforce the practice on the ground and under canopy - Try This:: Put your hands on your handles in freefall and FLY that way for a bit - Maintain a heading, do some 90's, etc. I'm a fun-lovin' criminal - - Easy Does It

Fast - Give me your broken dytter this weekend and I'll have it taken care of for you - I'll admit I've become a little dependent on mine - When I jump without one I am constantly checking my wrist. They're a nice little device to have, but not a gotta-have, particularly for a belly-flyer. Easy Does It
