Honestly I'd tell her to go to the DZ near her she wants to make home. Going through student training somewhere you will jump regularly starts to build friendships, etc there and it ends up being much easier to find people to jump with post-student status. Also in that respect her instructors will be there as a resource for her when those "newbie" questions coem up.

Keep myself occupied. Tonight I cooked a big dinner, watched an involved movie and I"ll take a Benadryl to sleep through the night. Tomorrow I'll wrap myself up in refinishing ceilings. Life's not always easy.

according to my doctor, I have shrunk. She says I'm only 5'3 1/2. that can't be true, because I KNOW I'm taller than Vinnie!!

the gaylord palms is a phenomenal hotel/resort. It's beautiful with everything set up like a town around little key west villages with restaurants, rain forests, etc. It's actually in Kissimmee. from there your best bets travel wise are deland, zhills and lake wales. Lake wales is probably closest but don't quote me on that.

yuengling? I thought you only drank rolling rock! Little Clay is growing up!!

me neither. I can't afford a star, I offered a while ago to help with screening ads, etc etc since I've been around here so long, but no help was needed.

kinda reminds me of when I was 15, I had been in the hospital for a few weeks and had a bunch of lines in me, my mom had to give me bed baths. bleck! Then after my surgery in order to taake a shower I had to have my stomach wrapped in saran wrap and taped up. Imagine a 15 year old being wrapped in plastic wrap and taped up by mom.

It was ambitious of boxman to coach me into a stag position that resulted in my jumpsuit coming totally unzipped too. I'll spare the rest of the details, but that night at the tunnel was definitely PG13! I've got tramadol for my back. It doesn't make me drowsy but alleviate the pain when I'm at work, which is perfect. Hopefully after some tests tomorrow we'll find out what exactly is wrong.

I flew 45 minuts in a three hour period. It seemed like a great idea at the time.

that mikala is horrid. i can't understand a word she says, she's cocky, and has an attitude. boo! Carrie has some vocal cords though! wow!

Damn, skippy! That's all I have to say!

I had just replaced the power supply less than a month ago. There were some cords that I didn't bundle together well. got a little dust out too, I cleaned it out majorly when I changed the supply. It's not smelling anymore though, after rebundling hte wires inside.

for a tandem? any time. the earlier in the day you schedule it, the better though. the wait gets longer as the day goes on. also early in the day puts you earlier on the list, which means you're more likely to get to jump if an unexpected rain storm comes along (or something unplanned) and backs up times a little. Summer is rocking at cross keys. When planning to jump, remember that it is considerably colder at altitude than on the ground, so plan accordingly, and a light pair of gloves isn't a terrible idea until May or so. If you want to jump now, just go for it. You could like it and be done your student progression before the busy season starts.

If anyone is wondering, you can't roast peeps like regular marshmallows. It doesn't work.

My PC is running fine. this morning when I started it up, it had a smell coming from it like burning paper. The tower was not even warm, it started and ran as normal, but that burning smell bothers me. I can hear the fans running, etc, but am wondering what this might be coming from. I'm going to open up the case when I get home this evening and double check the fans, etc, but am open to suggestions! Thanks!

Freefall Advnetures is mroe commonly known as Cross Keys. It's a fabulous place. I learned to jump there. The staff is phenomenal, the facilities are excellent, and the social atmosphere is unbeatable. You will never feel lost there. They have everythign you need on site, food, gear store, camping facilities, etc etc. After you get more experienced they have a biplane to jump and their own helecopter as well. If you go, tell everyone Stacy said hello, especially Liz in manifest.

newark skydiving is a member of skyride. Do a quick search on here for Skyride. I wouldn't go there at all.

I like "large size." Next thing you know, that guy will be selling a rig in a one size fits all, because it has a drawstring around the chest.

Ya know, I wasn't going to reply to this, but I will. I'm in the same boat, Arthur. It's been a good chunk of time since I jumped last. Maybe not considered a lot of time for some people, but as someone who used to do 15+ jumps a weekend, EVERY weekend regardless of temperature, in my eyes I'm not as current as I used to be. Not jumping for that period of time, sadly, hasn't bothered me. For 4-5 years Skydiving was me. IT was who I was, what I did every weekend and weekday (if i was err sick ). I just sold my main. I'm not giving everythign up yet, I don't want to do anything rash. But I have made the decision for myself that even coming back now, my main is not appropriate for me. I've found other interests to pursue, have a career that I love now, and really am happier than I've been in a long time. I'm making a decision for ME. the only thing we can be sure of is change. I know the sky will be there when I want to jump again, it will be there for you too. I still have a great amount of respect for and interest in the sport. You'll still find me poking around on skyleague and catching up on 4way stats. Making a decision that is right for you is more important than anything else.

you shouldn't wait a week. If it is really tonsilitis you can look in your throat witha flashlight and see lits of white swelling. When I had it I couldn't eat any solid foods, and barely could eat stuff like pudding or jello. waiting a week the swelling will get worse. Go to the school health center. They can't deny you an appointment if you show up sick. They also may be able to give yo a sample antibiotic or something. School doctors are usually good about htat stuff.

It was a beautiful weekend here in Sarasota too. I would have loved to go for a bike ride out on the keys, but I"m behaving due to a messed up back. I've got cool pain meds though.
