  1. One of the biggest issues is that Bill and Kathy do not get any compensation for dealing with extra hassle's. It is often so busy that they can't ask when some new kid pulls a wing suit out of his bag half way through the day or some 100 jump wonder decides to "Organize"a tracking jump. When there is an out landing on a busy day, that is just another thing they (mostly Kathy) does not need. When Bill gets a call from a neighbor wondering who owns the tan SUV cruising up and down the fields, that will ratchet him up a little more. I don't yet know what the best answer is, but we are trying to come up with something most everyone can live with. I have met with the "angry neighbors" and they are not that angry yet. I gave them a few suggestions to think about and took a little time with them just to get to know them. So, as of right now we are in a small holding pattern. Please do not do any thing else at the moment. I am waiting for this meeting to get Bill's attention and see what he comes back with. The ground is kind of shakey and things need to settle down. This will take some man power and commitment if we are to get back in the skies over Lodi. I know we can do it. Thanks, Pete and the rest of the Lodi regulars.
  2. No difference in the sets Mel or I produce, they are from his files. Depends where you are located as to the choice of him or myself. The feed back I get is positive, no real complaints. The HMA we use tends to make for slower openings that can expose jumper problems during deployment. Example, raising a leg, contributing to off heading problems.
  3. I have one that I use for patching all the time. Sweet unit, get it.
  4. Glad you brought it up,Nick. Ebay making $$ off other peoples mistakes. M.W. would not have anything to gain as gov, ya think? The bike looks great BTW. Bring a base rig to nor cal when you want to go on a long ride...
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXT05R0WVQM Dean Potter doing what he does..

  8. Are you fucking kidding me!?! ANY and I mean ANY A/C flying right now, today has been APPROVED FOR FLIGHT! By the FAA, JP. If you have problems, I asked Fred Smith ST&A, Craig Stapleton and Bill Dause if YOU would be welcome to come down and talk, in person about your concerns. Guess what, they said yes! So get down there in person and get some facts or zip it.....
  9. I have a base rig that I put every stitch in from the legstaps to the pilot chute. I did have a great feeling the first jump on it.
  10. I am in Roseberg, Oregon and want to leave today for Lodi, CA this afternoon. Any truckers going south? Anyone else? The greydog is not that appealing, but what the heck, right? I will leave late this afternoon, just thought I would throw it out there.
  11. I always knew Clint Eastwood was a standup guy. Clowns in the Circus, they're a riot. On the highway, they're murder... gotta love it. Thanks Nick.
  12. Well Bro, it's been over a year now. We did the ash dive at Lincoln, September 4th. Nick really enjoyed his Tandem, and Cheryl watched from the ground. Murphy and I did the honors, you and Lelani looked real good doing that two way above us after we let you go. JC Harrison and Darrel were both on the ground and happy as hell to see you. I flew your Reflex and Triathlon one more time. Ken Meyer, Mike Hockenberry, Pat Garcia, Ed Pawlowski Pete Galli and a few more who's names are escaping me joined in. We tipped a couple of beers after and told some lies, mostly about you! Nick gave me that 30 plus year old bottle of Jack Daniels you and I opened that one really snowy night. We pulled it off man, but you already knew that...
  13. My Wife knows that my best friend gets his choice of my gear, sell the rest and have a party. Oh, and there is that one last hike up Half Dome...
  14. I do know that Mike Turoff testified for the Plaintiff as an aviation expert.
  15. guys with 15 jumps don't do hop and pop's from the 99.
  16. A call or one on one to the Rigger would be an appropriate first step. Take notes. Hang paper on him if he is being a DB., PIA form TS 122 is a good format. A DPRE is only an examiner and has no enforcement authority. Sure, you have the "old greybeard" thing going and it may be useful. The DPRE could have a negative effect if he/she comes off the wrong way. Say if you could yank the packed bag off the floor as hard as you could, and it stayed closed. This would be relatively minor in the big scheme of things. But still needs to followed up on.
  17. Again another thread hijack! Poor robskydiv, all you wanted to know is if people ever landed in the vineyards. Some, if not most would have folded up and blown away long ago.
  18. Yes, the rig closes bottom, top, right, left. The side flaps do not need to overlap this way.
  19. Well, Merry Christmas to you, Tom. While I'm at it the same to everyone out there, especially you Jan! Yes there have been people in the grapes, I've been out there during the tracking contest a couple of times!
  20. Holy fuck!!!!! I'm a big wuss then. Dammit that kid has some balls!!!!!!!! I was thinking airbag at first, but cardboard boxes........... and throwing in aerials to boot. HE WINS!!!
  21. I wonder if you could make a long run line down your driveway. Let the dogs "train" the cat not to come by while keeping them on your property.
