I was never good at video games. While I was in junior high(a loooong time ago), the local gaming center gave free token for good grades. I was a straight "A" geek and got the max amount of free tokens. But it took me about 5 minutes to blow the tokens. That broke me of playing video games. Student flared as instructed over radio by AFFI. About 5-7' above the ground, for some reason, he let the toggles up to return to full flight. Hit the ground hard without a PLF. If he just held his flare, he was set for a textbook soft landing. Outcome= broken fibula. Just follow your training and listen to your instructors. Injuries can happen any time. I saw it happen on a level 1, I did it just before jump 500. Instead of focusing on what *might * happen, plan/train on what should happen. And practice your PLF until you can do it in any direction. That is the best insurance to keeping your legs healthy. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. Byron is known for being a windy DZ. The winds can be howling or non existant. It is surrounded by windmills. But with few obstructions, there is not much turbulance. The landing area is big with plenty of outs. If you are use to the winds at El'Snore, you should have no problems at Byron. Besides, if the winds pick up, the beerlight gets turned on early. One year we got winded out on Friday. Beerlight got turned on about 3pm. I have never seen such a wild evening of karaoke. Elisha was riding around on Amazon's shoulders. 50 donations so far. Lodi California has $15 jumps to 13K and a block of 50 is $650. Open every day flying either beech 99, Otter or KA. NorCal weather tends to be *decent* during that time. So I get home from work and check my mail box. I find an envelope from my ex-employer. I left the company by my choice, with them owing me some money.
