Looks good to me.....You are a lot better of than I was on level 6. I had to do an AFF6b jump to correct some spins. Do you live near a tunnel? I put in four 2 minute sessions to correct legs and the body twisting pretty much the same as yours. Speaking of laffz! You can watch my tunnel adventures and my Jump 8 solo. I'm a LARGE diver with a fast fall rate, kudos to my AFFI who kept up with me and filmed my solo for me. http://www.onefootinthegrave.net/filez!/slider-solo.wmv for more http://www.onefootinthegrave.net/filez! Keep up the good work!

I myself did my 3rd self instructed solo today through said haze.... I used the tunnel between 3 and 4 as well. It was a great tool for muscle-memory and most of all....confidence! Great job! I 'm 6'1" @ 240 w/ 50" chest. Not fat, but really "stocky". I see a lot of folks selling "Big Boy" and "Larger Diver" setups but can't make heads or tails of what brands/styles are best suited for my type of build. When I rent gear @ the DZ, the largest rig they have seems to feel a little snug around the shoulders, legs, etc. Any major diffs' with the articulated vs. fixed setups. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Anvil Brother #69 Sidelined with a 5mm C5-C6 herniated disk... Back2Back slammers and 40yr old fat guys don't mix!

I hear ya! I get the same signals. I agree with the later response that "leg awareness will come with more jumps". I found that I am so focused on the jump at hand that on exit, I don't remember a damn thing but the dive flow. I was fortunate enough to progress form AFF 1-5 with no repeats. I had my AFF 6 jump a couple weeks ago and was sweatin' the exit hard. It was all I could think about. Come to find out, I nailed the exit, a little more legs and arch to stabilize 3-4 seconds out. My problem was getting ahead of myself on the backloop(s). After a clean exit and clean turn to face my instructor, an altitude check sent me into a 4-5 rotation fast turn. I came out of it, faced the instructor, nailed a great backloop, then spun, rolled, twisted on my next COA. As you can see I still need to work on legs as well. Student to student, listen, learn, and adapt during the flow. Based on AFF progression, we still don't know what our bodies can do. As hard as it is to do, I just keep reminding myself, you did it the jump before, so you can do it this time! Good Luck, Blue Skies! =slider Anvil Brother #69 Sidelined with a 5mm C5-C6 herniated disk... Back2Back slammers and 40yr old fat guys don't mix!

Any suggestions as to the "best" or "ideal" configuration for leg straps? I'm a big guy (6'1" - 240) and was curious as to strength, safety, etc. of each configuration. I've seen the "click" type and jumped with the standard adjustable By the way, I'm still a student. Anvil Brother #69 Sidelined with a 5mm C5-C6 herniated disk... Thoughts on training with a suspended harness
sd-slider replied to Jeth's topic in Safety and Training
I recently had a friend show up from out of town and dropped off a rig to do just this(thanks Twardo!). I currently have it suspended in my garage via the risers and I use it multiple times a week just for "peace of mind" knowing all well that the "real thing" will be much different and more traumatic. I had asked the same ? @ the DZ and got a couple "no need to do that" type answers. My buddy said BS and dropped the rig off and it has made a world of difference in my confidence in the gear I use as well as understanding the fundamental mechanics of the whole system.
