When i first started jumping, right after I got my A (bout 35 or 40 jumps) i was introduced to a friend of a friend while interning in DC one summer during college. Pretty classic, very similar story. Him: So you skydive? That's awesome me too! Me: Sweet! I just got my license we should jump together this weekend Him: Oh, well, I dont anymore, I dont have my gear. Me: I dont have gear yet, they have a bunch of rentals at orange, come do a currency and jump with me. Him: Ok I'll think about it. So what do you like to do in the air? Me: Im still on my belly, I want to learn to freefly though, looks like a lot of fun. Him: Yeah I like to skyboard, It's a sh*tload of fun. Me: Oh d*mn! I didn't realize you had that many jumps! So later in the summer we (college friends and me) are all drinking at his place and he brings up skydiving again- his pick up line at the bars was to tell people that I skydive...D-bag. Anyway, I ask to see those videos he has. He shuffles his things around and finally pulls a DVD out and pops it in. It was him doing a tandem. he was like "oh this is the wrong video, i dont know what i did with my other ones, but this was my first jump anyway" Havent run into anything like that since. Farm is good, ASC is best IMHO. After years of a hollister van ride, i cringe at the thought of more van rides. I also like air conditioning while packing. You get experienced staff at both places, but ASC for logical and sentimental reasons is the best choice. but f*ck it, when you start to jump regularly, jump at both and alternate weekends, you'll have twice the friends! Note: I do have bias, I would make love to ASC even if it were a dirty whore, like drunk andy in the mock up to himself in a hooters dress. Note 2: Hi cedartownites. Saw a girl about 3 weeks ago do a naked tandem with implants. They point straight down, instructor loved the aerodynamics, I loved the view!!! So I placed my order right around the time he was closing down, or at least slowing down. It took somewhere around 5 months to receive the suit which obviously sucked, but when i got it I couldnt have been more thrilled. The suit was cut exactly how i needed it, extra baggy and fit perfect. Because of the extra baggy, i think a seem at the ankle wore out early from the beating/fast fall rate. I made some amateur patch work and it has lasted. I tore the right knee to shreds on a downwind landing, took it to a tailor and it looks almost good as new and still holds great. Ive put about 250 jumps on it in about 2 years and it still looks almost new and is holding up beautifully. I've still got his number in case this one ever does wear out. Hopefully he'll special make it :-) or go back into full production!

if you get your hands on it: Rogaine in the shampoo (not too funny for you military guys though...) The leaner is terrific, don't know how many times i did that in the dorms/frat house celophane over any public toilet that isn't a hole in the ground while youre on patrol dismantling and reassembling vehicles inside buildings is always fun, but you may get in trouble and not have the time ...I'll think of more... Funny stuff! I am a sales manager for a large hotel chain, it is amazing how the little things that don't cost money make the biggest difference in a guest's stay. Most of the stuff that makes the expensive hotels so expensive is the service, the intangibles. We are required to say hello and greet any guest we make eye contact with, and suggest assistance to any that appear lost or confused. Note taken you guys even notice a failure in attitude in taco bell, we MUST be under a microscope here! Next time you are at a hotel, take note of how many times someone escorts you to a location on property you ask to go. It is a great policy, makes the difference! So there I was... My longest travel day(s) was while going to africa. was actually suprisingly flawless, all bags got there with me despite some delays. san francisco- DC on a red eye DC - addis ababa, ethiopia via Rome, itlay for fuel. Addis to Kigali rwanda. 36 hours of travel coming back from dar es salaam tanzania zanzibar- dar (25 minutes) dar to addis via arusha tanzania this was the fun part: 3 hour lay over in addis before a 17 hour flight back to DC, we load on the plane, take our seats, and are waiting for one passengers papers to clear for 2.5 hours on the plane on the tarmac at the gate waiting to take off and sit for 17 more hours. fun. so yeah, addis to DC via rome again, DC to san fran. good trip though :-) pics at bdashe.shutterfly.com So there I was... Looking to get my first video camera, so now im looking for your opinions. My needs: NOT a camera flyer, will not be selling videos I dont want something too pricey or fancy, but i dont really know what reasonable is, and i don't want a piece of shit. 90% of my jumps are freefly i make about 150-200 jumps a year in a bunch of different climates. i kinda did two, i did one for my 100th overall and one for my 100th solo (not including my tandem). one i did an 8 way sit, which was awesome, had 3 docks going at once (Thanks team one) and the other i went ass naked. I highly recommend the nude jump, fun as shit, i did it in the winter so it was frickin freazing, and even more embarassing (think a pool with ice cubes in it) but totally worth it. didnt hit me till i was undercanopy and i look down thinkin "YYYYYYYYYYYYup.
